Very old news, they are working on the show merchandise already!

Picking up a show that Dustin Hoffman's willing to do may seem expected and sure they were talking about it like it was gonna go, but no it's not old news. Going to series v. making the pilot and doing the tell tale signs of picking up a show aren't the same thing. Showtime kicked what seemed like shoo-in shows out the door last year cuz they couldn't afford them. The fact that it's officially a show is new. A pilot means nothing in terms of guarantees. Deadline.com isn't really known for being late to the party. Usually they're the ones breaking the info.
