Classic comment lines

This is a subtle one, but one of my favorites from DRF:

"8w 1/8p, closed well"

There were 6 horses in the race, Private Vow's debut.

You'll never guess the jockey.

I'm sure there are plenty others that are LOL funny. Anybody else have a favorite on a slow day?

So you can't be in the 8 path in a 6 horse field?

Have you ever seen Mike Smith ride?

Maiden tomorrow at Belmont, the comment is 2 wide... I dont recall ever seeing 2w being pointed out.

There was a maiden at Oaklawn who twice in a row had the lead at the top of the stretch, only to blow the turn the first time and duck out at the sixteenth pole and lose his rider the second time. When he broke his maiden the next time the comment read like "drew away, no mishap." I thought that was pretty funny.

California comment lines always seem different to me than east coast comments. Favorite and interestin one Ive seen is "tried to savage"
