During football season - how about a 'PG '85 half hour of power' segment?

One part breaking down his pro and college bets - and the other part horses.

Looking forward to your return to the satellite airwaves! Best of luck to you in your new time slot.

WELCOME BACK!! It is so nice to hear you on the radio instead of the computer.

Steve..it works :tro::tro::tro:

I was able to listen to a good bit of the show on my computer this morning, when the phone left me alone, and really enjoyed hearing from Bob Baffert, Steve Haskin, and especially Terrell Gore. Hearing from folks like Gore brings the sport home to guys like me on a more personal level. He reminds me of people I worked for in the business years ago. It was great when he said he is keeping your number! I look forward to hearing from him again in the future.

Thanks to those that caught the opener! Was a little different but seemed to have a certain vibe that I think is going to be good. Baffert was particularly great live from Clocker's Corner, and thought it was a really nice first time visit with Terrell Gore (Shadowbedancing), who turned out to be a long time ATR listener. I completely forgot to ask Mark Frostad about his Queen's Plate runners though...

Appreciate the kind support of the new initiative... Remember podcast, 24/7 stream and archive (all available shortly after noon) if you can't catch the 9a-12n version.

Steve, would you say you're a morning person? Just started listening now, and you sound quite the perky fellow. Looking forward to hearing some Baffert and Haskin. :)

dpkovalesky 06-28-2010 03:05 PM

so great to have the show back!

MisterB 06-28-2010 03:17 PM

Baffert sounded like he was on a majic carpet ride. His horses are blossoming like flowers.

I have always been morning-oriented, typically up between 5:00-5:30. As long as I can stay ahead of the preparation the evening before, I think the new format will work well..

Tough for this west coaster to get used to. Will try to make the adjustment.

OldDog 06-28-2010 03:22 PM

Any chance the show might be re-broadcast on satellite radio from Noon to 3PM? I'm often on the road at that time, and could catch what I might have missed online earlier.

DaTruth 06-28-2010 06:12 PM

Has the show moved to a new XM channel? 243 was playing something different during the new timeslot.

Steve does not like me anymore, my chances of making the show have declined.

At least Stern is on vacation for two weeks.

Steve is, by profession, a marketer.

What you need to do is sell yourself to him (in the sense of selling the idea of getting you on air) in a way that he would see as beneficial.

My two suggestions would be to, one, offer up a 15 comedic segment of the show, or two, have you discuss your picks, then he can go the other way on every selection you make, thus making him look like an all time great genius.

You'll probably have better luck with the second idea.

If someone called me that ... we'd be in a fight.

You are a wop marketer.

I mean that as nicely as possible, both with Byk (he really is in marketing) and you.
