I gotta stop looking for televised race schedules

I just get depressed. I was checking out the horse racing schedule on http://www.ntra.com/schedule/# and trying see what's on ESPN (or *gasp* network). Color me amazed that the Haskell is on ABC--or any channel other than your TVG or HRTV--this year. That explains my initial confusion as to what the Oceanport S. did to get network attention. It's obviously on the card beforehand and they might as well show it. Not that they haven't ignored undercard races they totally could've show before, just for funsies.

The Haskell wasn't on last year right? Even with Rachel and Summer Bird in it? Weird that it will be this time. I only remember seeing the TVG footage on youtube. I wonder if NTRA Live will pick some of these up. I like youtube as much as the next person, but I'd like a little foreplay--I mean context. :o If you'll excuse me, I gotta go exercise and pout that there is zero ESPN coverage of Saratoga. Is that because any NY racing requires them to put that hideous version of Empire State of Mind on before the race? Cuz if it does, they can keep it off my tv with a hearty thanks from yours truly.

ETA: Just did the math and realized yup, no Travers on ESPN or network tv this year.

Why not Food TV? They sure like to promote thier shows during the Oaks/Derby coverage on Bravo and NBC so why not vice versa?

For a second I was like 'what does this have to do with Monosodium glutamate'? Then I did me some googling and came up with this: http://www.nyra.com/belmont/stories/Jun232010b.shtml

Apologies to Andy. Sorry I spaced out on ya. Lemme make sure I understand. This is a NY-only viewable thing? I'm still really confused why ABC would pick up the Haskell, but not the Travers. Is it a rights thing or lack of interest?

And what's it gonna take to get Andy and Steve on tv together? The world is waiting. They're clamoring for this almost as much as Rachel/Zenyatta...okay I might've made that up. Well, I would enjoy it.

If you live in Maryland there is a good chance you will be able to see our shows. I assume you got them last year on MASN?

I for one am just glad there will be no more threads about the preemption of the telecast due to Little League games running over.

This is much better.

Sure just cut the racing all together, and the little kids have plenty of time to play to their heart's content without a bunch of people swearing at the television. Problem solved.
