I should point out Global Force was #1 on my early Derby Top 10 list.

I did not listen today, I worked all night last night and had just got up. Did my daily drf check, and saw this. Races like this excite me, and I might not even bet because I dont like anything around it for Multi Race plays.

There are some pretty nice horses in that race.

This had to be a situation where everyone was thinking, "We'll go in that 1m ALW on the 19th... It will be a 6 horse field and a cakewalk." Then the overnight comes out and jaws start dropping. Cannot believe the field goes postward intact. Albertrani and Padua can't possibly want Global Force facing these first back from the break.

And when does the new non-coupled entry rule take effect? Should be soon. Think about how this race will look when entries end and it goes with 9 betting interests...

In fact, it would be fun to see odds under both settings... Anybody?

I dont know about the odds, but if the group stays intact I think Ramon is a serious wire threat, I will be totally tossing the Pletcher entry.... The Godolphin horse is cleary ok, with the Ice coming right back to win, but the Shug chalk that day is really bad and bomed at odds on. I loved Global Force, but I dont think he can win this, so hopefully they do scratch...

I knew you couldn't hold out.

Yeah I couldn't imagine the intense therapy sessions that horse would need if it...*gasp* lost a race.

I don't think Albertrani would be so much concerned with getting beat as getting involved in a hard race immediately upon return from a pretty substancial layoff. Generally you don't want to have a gutwrencher first off the shelf.

I'm going to reach out for him for a visit actually as Gozzip Girl goes in the New York later on the card and I want to ask him about the West Point filly that won the Jostle last week... We'll get his thoughts on the topic directly.

It likely does not matter, unless it stays together and I get 5-1 on Ramon, I dont like anything around it and wont be betting.

hockey2315 06-16-2010 09:06 PM

The dreaded Albertrani to Suroor switch. Poor Cocalero.

You forget.

RHT sometimes thinks that Sterling and Byk are the same person.

I hope he runs...layoff or no. That horse should love the distance and it's not like he's facing the second coming of Ghostzapper for crying out loud.

I still can't get over Safety Check's maiden effort at Belmont after his debut at Philly Park.

Is Alan Goldberg maintaining still streaking?
