For a change, let's bash something not Obama

Ah, what's in the news today?

Here's one: George Bush publically admits America tortures. And he's still proud of it :tro:

What else ... poor Rand Paul. What's a libertarian to do? Now the band Rush orders him to stop playing their song at rallies, as Paul refuses to pay for permission to do so (darn, that free market thing! It means that the products of a man's work are not ... free for the taking by others)

In news from the neuronally-challenged, Caribou Barbie accuses extreme environmentalists of causing the BP oil spill.

And the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman editor sorta apologizes for sorta maybe suggesting that Joe McGinnis sorta could be blown away by the Palins in the name of them protecting their property. McGinniss is tired of the death threats he's receiving now. Support the guy and go buy "The Big Horse" on Amazon.

And Louisiana Republicans Jindal and Vitter call on Obama to immediately end the moratorium on deep-water drilling off the coast of Louisiana.

This is precious.

You do know Gitmo is STILL open?

A guy using a song and not paying for it? Hang em high!

A statement from a former republican governor who you've always been fond of we know.

A news editor neither I nor anyone else outside of Huffington has heard of.

And a governor who feels a moratorium may tie his and BP's hands for the possible drilling of relief wells near the leak.

Sorry this doesn't come clear to the empty-the-bank now pay-for-it later, knee-jerk, spending fool who takes seconds to write blank checks yet takes weeks to come up with a memo that still doesn't answer the question 'what job'.

Or who rides thru the Korean conflict with blinks on while while going blinks off, siding with the terroristic Palestinians every chance he gets.

Worse vs. Worser

Probably more important we live in the 1970's and talk repeatedly about Carter, huh? :tro:

What's Obama supposed to do, exactly - yell louder?

Are you in favor of government takeover of private property in the event of a disaster?

The government doesn't have the equipment or expertise to handle this. The government doesn't drill for oil. BP does (supposedly does, and pretty obviously doesn't - not that I think they care one whit).

I don't know what you think the government was supposed to do differently - call in other oil company workers from other areas of the world, kick the BP head guys out, and use other oilmen to direct the fixes on equipment they were completely unfamiliar with?

The only thing I would have like to have seen was the government send in National Guard, gov. troops, etc. on the ground for cleanup more quickly. They still would have to obtain booms, etc from private companies. Boats from the locals.

What - exactly - would you have liked to see the government and Obama do differently? Exactly?

I think it would have bee a nice touch if he sang "Rocky Raccoon" with Paul.

BP is very interested in stopping the leak. Obama is very interested in filing lawsuits.

I'd like him to admit he is in way over his head and resign. You can't vote present when you are president.

I've heard that BP wanted to do the cap first and it was Obama that wanted to try everything else first. With his agenda I think he wants more damages
