23 right. Not too bad for being out of school for over twenty years. This test should be a requirement for US citizenship. A vast amount of great questions on it.

I have always loved history but in school I was so much more drawn to World history that I mostly just memorized the facts and didnt get into the meat of the American Revolution, my bad.

The Battle of St. Louis (Spanish San Luis) was an unsuccessful British-led attack on St. Louis (a French settlement that had been ceded to Spain in 1763) on May 26, 1780, during the American Revolutionary War. A force composed primarily of Indians and led by a former militia commander attacked the settlement. The settlements defenders, mostly local militia that was led by Lieutenant Governor of Spanish Louisiana Fernando de Leyba, had fortified the town as best they could, and successfully withstood the attack.

A second simultaneous attack on the American outpost at Cahokia, Illinois was also repulsed. The retreating Indians destroyed crops and took as captives civilians outside the protected area. The British failure effectively ended their attempts to gain control of the Mississippi River during the war


it may have occurred during the war, but i challenge that it was part of it. anyway, learned something new today.
