They can't stop it till August.

*EFFORTS TO END FLOW ARE OVER UNTIL RELIEF WELLS ARE DONE
BP DECIDED NOT TO ATTACH 2ND BLOWOUT PREVENTER, ALLEN SAYS
By Jim Polson
June 1 (Bloomberg) -- BP Plc has decided not to attach a
second blowout preventer on its leaking well in the Gulf of
Mexico and efforts to end the flow are over until the relief
wells are finished, according to the U.S. Coast Guard’s Thad
Allen, who spoke at a press conference today.

I would say containment in the Gulf is the best we can hope for. There is a possiblilty the entire east coast gets affected by the end of this. A complete and utter cluster****.

Honu 06-01-2010 01:21 PM

Im curious to know why we havent called the Army Corp of Engineers in to see what they think can be done ......and bill BP for it. It seems our government is very content to just sit by and let BP do all the decision making.

Yes you are right they did do a lousy job with the levees. My bad .
Just let it flow.

My guess is they knew they couldn't stop it from the beginning. Pure window dressing for a month to buy time.

Exactly what happened with the levees.

Guess they are worried that they'd make an even worse situation (didn't they say this could even be worse.) Nobody likes to talk about it, but they could make it even worse. For all we know, they did make it worse, and the press will catch up to that in a week or so.

Im sure O'dumbass will keep on accepting money from BP. Which means he won't do anything about this enviromental disaster. He could care less about people's jobs being lost due to this spill.

Didn't we cover this already? Or did you not read the link I posted? He never took a dime from BP

Riot 06-01-2010 07:15 PM

Right now the live feed is showing the cutting (with the giant pinchers) of the pipe, more oil leaking ....

The terrific thing about your worldview is you never have to worry about reality altering it ;)

I'm quite sure the ACE have been called/consulted, but I don't think deep water oil well plugging is one of their specialties. How much actual help they can offer, is probably very limited. They will probably be more helpful in the containment and clean-up.

Our government is not sitting by and letting BP do the decision making.

I don't comment much on here, but when I do, I try not to spew out stuff that is going to make me seem ignorant , racist or inbred. All three of those qualities come shining through in each of your posts. I personally want to thank you for making me feel smarter than a 5th grader.
