TVG This Afternoon

Does anyone know what happened with Frank M. on TVG today? Something about going "all in" on a 2-5 shot on Monmouth that lost? He didn't look happy. Did he leave the broadcast after the race?

Coach Pants 05-31-2010 02:10 PM

You watch wrestling?

Wolf is lucky he didn't get his butt kicked....

Duvalier 05-31-2010 07:56 PM

Had to be a joke. Can't see Mirahmadi going all in on a 2-5 shot...unless it was something like Scav pointed out and he needed the horse for a Pick 4 or something.

Seems he may have bet it to win heavy. It wasnt like the pick 4 was going to pay anything life changing if that 2-5 came in.

If you're betting 2-5 shots to win, you deserve what you get.

richard burch 05-31-2010 10:07 PM

the win pool on race 4

Win Pool $8,790 $3,035 $8,559 $29,975 $1,149 $2,397 $14,317 $7,187

does frank m. got that kinda cash? if so, he should get a hairpiece.

by the way, some horse just paid 80$ to show at mountaineer.

Acosta cashed a show ticket on that race at the mountain, there is no way that horse should lose.

TVG crew? Oh don't get me started, anyone newbie or old timers should never bet any the ticket they post on the show or website. These clowns break the biggest sin in gambling....never backing their bets up.

Hey TVG instead of trying to hit pick 3, pick 4 or pick 6....how about hitting an exacta sometime this century. You may end up with some money in your pockets.

Seriously, Frank Lyons is a good handicapper. And if Todd Schrupp decides to stop trying to look like he's a smart guy...you all will be surprised how good of a handicapper this guy really is. It seem like he went to TVG 10 years ago and got stupid. This guy was really good when he did the pre race show out of Calder back in the 90's.

I remember three horses this guy picked as first time starters in the summer of 1993 and gave the "this will be a horse you will see down the road making a name for itself" Cherokee Run, Mecke and Hollywood Wildcat....all G-1 winners that started at Calder and all three paid nice prices breaking their maidens.

Frank should have acted like a professional but Greg Wolf......way to stick the knife in. You wonder if Frank might not be that well received at TVG.

I think it might be more of Greg Wolf needing to be b.itch slapped. Maybe they can get Nancy Uryne to do it.

I dont blame Frank for walking off the set,,,,,,,,,,it's hard to talk with your mouth fill of dirt.

Hammer a 2/5 shot and lose= eating dirt.

Greg Wolf, Nancy Uyre, Michelle Yu and that new annoying guy of the Pick 4 Posse have absolutely no buisness discussing horse racing with anyone. Where do they find these people?

Walking away is the best thing.

playing with monopoly money..

I am tired of these guys/girls making their selections and crying about making it affordable for the public and being held within the constraints of the "policies"

I suggest they each be compensated via their selections

Much like a salesman

give them benefits and a draw to live on

Give them an annual bankroll of 100,000 and a minimum daily play of say 200.

Make their selections and then keep whatever they earn.

big bonus to highest earner and incremental bonus for positive roi

I know this is simplistic but some version would give a measure on their ROI and create a hierarchy amongst the "talent".

Any guesses on who would have to start selling tip sheets in about July

Mr. B already sells tip sheets. He cuts and pastes the morning line selections.
