Gander

That one compliments of Tim Salmon. He has had a great career(even got a ring,)and atleast he knows he is done(retiring end of the season.)Still don't know why Tavarez nailed Salmon in the back (at 2nd base.)Estupido.

Angels and Red Sox. Kind of ironic that they are playing each other right now and each team is almost in identical situations as far as making the playoffs. Didnt catch any of last night's game Scuds, but I guess it must have been mildly entertaining. Each team needs to go on quite the win tear to stand a chance at catching their foes. I'm talking winning like 13 of their next 15 games.

Yeah,it's unfortunate that they have to play each other(and hack each other up.)I can tell ya one problem you had last weekend. Both Del Carmen, and Papelbomb(close e nuff) look much more at ease in this series(away from the Yanks.)In other words, the rivalry is a little much for guys that new to the situation. That series was so hyped that the younger guys felt they were in the Championship Series, and didn't perform like they could. That kind of pressure is new for them, and they will do better against the Yanks in the future. You guys have relied heavily on some rookies.

Gander 08-24-2006 08:07 AM

Ya Scuds, you and I cant be excited about trading a couple wins and losses, meanwhile wasting time as the Yankees and A's continue to win.

Who you rooting for in the postseason if your Halos dont go on a magical tear and catch the A's? Probably the same team I'll root for if the Red Sox cant do the same...the Dodgers!

SCUDSBROTHER 08-24-2006 08:07 AM

BTW,Penney really popped his hood last night.LOL...Ump was pinching pretty hard, and it's the last thing he needed against the team that has beaten them all year.Very frustrated team. They badly need to stop trying to slug, and start producing runs by getting Furcal on,and stealing 2nd...moving him over etc.etc..

Yeah,if the Dodgers make it.They haven't hit a lick against good pitching though.Big problem.Washington,Cincy,Florida,Colorado, and San Francisco was the streak. That bunch had 2 good pitchers(Schmidt, and Francis,)and they struggled in those 2 games.Padres simply bare down n' pitch fantastic against them,,and it works. They have to start hitting good starters ,or it's 3 in out(if they make the post.)

Gander 08-24-2006 08:36 AM

They're going to make it Scuds. They are a team of destiny this year in a division which lacks any other storyline. Penny and Lowe will be pitching in game one and two and I hope they play the Mets.

Padres got to get themselves beat ,cuz Dodgers can't beat them.Sad,and embarassing.Padres play really bad sometimes though(not against the Dodgers though...their whole f'n year's self worth is based on beating the Dodgers.)Hope the blue crew can get they heads out of they a$$e$ before it's too late. They have 4 against the Mets in September, and that could be very bloody(one of the reasons the Dodgers have a 1 game lead is because the Padres took a beating in New York a couple weeks back.)If they get swept by the Mets, they are gunna have a hard time winning the division(finish on the road in Frisco...REMEMBER THEM? THE BEAT L.A....BEAT L.A..... BEAT L.A.....****** NATION.)The Dodgers don't exactly like that road.I'd say they shouldn't be favorites right now to win this.My God,I can just see it plain as can be in my head.Ray Durham going 12 for 16 in the last 3 days of the season(2 home runs....1 triple...7 doubles...2 singles...,and then he will say it was payback for the final series at Dodger Stadium in '04.) I have high hopes, but low expectations. They would have much better chances if they didn't have to finish on the road in Frisco. It's a killa..mark my words..a killa.

The Reds are out there the next 11 days for 10 games, I think if they can come back .500, they'll win the Central. Cardinals are horrific and the Reds stuck a fork in Houston to win the Wild Card, by taking 2 of 3. I think the Dodgers will win the West or get the Wild Card, with one of the other teams out West getting the Wild Card, if the Dodgers win the West, either way, I think they are in...Scuds, tell those West Coast Teams to take it easy on the Reds, the Dodgers buried them last time they played...

Dodgers welcome your arrival. They love average-to-bad pitching, and Cincy seems to have it.Dodgers can't hit right now,and it wouldn't surprise me if they keep grippin' in Arizona. You're our main hope (to get our hitting back on track.)

The Reds pitching has been better, Harang's solid, Arroyo seems to be out of his funk, and this Lohse guy is pitching like a freak, Milton is okay about 3 out of 5 outings and the 5th guy is a mish-mash. If they bring up Homer Bailey, it will definetely help, remember this guys name, he's going to be a Superstar...

Dodgers deal in extremes. They are totally unlike the other team in town(which lately hasn't swept a good team,or been swept by a good team.)I think that is simply due to the Halos having better management skills.I think Grady is pretty good at figuring out(along with the G.M.)who the cancer is on a team, and eventually cutting it out(can't do that with J.D. POOH'S 10 MIL..thanks DEPODESTA, ya btch.)Grady doesn't know how to get the team to stop sliding though. My guess is we feast on you for 3,or you feast on us for 3.Won't be surprised either way.

SCUDSBROTHER 08-24-2006 02:08 PM

Atleast(by coming out to the West Coast) the Cincy club will get out of the nightly sauna.Out here it is hot during the day,but luckily the night is the right time(cools off.)BTW...No easy home runs at Dodger Stadium at night. You have to earn it.Ain't like the Great American Small Park.

Dodgers over Reds in a sweep.
Astros win the wildcard.

I thought you knew something about Baseball, you might want to check the Astros, they're behind the Brewers...

Gander 08-24-2006 02:50 PM

I know where they are. You may need to know that the season doesnt end tomorrow, there are still about 35 games left, plenty of time for the Astros to catch fire and walk into this thing.

Gander 08-24-2006 02:50 PM

That the Reds are this close to making the playoffs proves how far inferior a league the NL is.

SCUDSBROTHER 08-24-2006 02:57 PM

35 games to go.They have won 60 games.Took 89 last year to get the Wild Card. Are you thinking that they go 29-6???Maybe you think 87 will be enough??? 27-8???

They wouldn't have been swept at home against The Yankees, that was one of the most sackless things I have seen in sports in a long time...

The Reds are on the rebound, they have a new owner that will spend money and what many are calling the GM of the Year, they are going to be really good...

No matter how good Boston is, how many World Series have they won in the last 20 years?

One, the same amount as the Reds have, so it's not like Boston is winning WS after WS...

It's not out of the realm of possibility that the NL Wild Card team could have a losing record...But make no mistake, Houston got the fork by going 1 of 3 against the Reds, they needed to win at least 2, to have a chance...
