Obamas paying for White House Renovations?

must applaud him for going into his own pocket for the $376 million at a time when Americans and Illegals alike are losing their homes :)

hmmm $100K off of $376 million only leaves $375.9 million to go. If only the government would build us all homes I'm sure we could spring for some Windex.

Im sure the amount he spends will be a income tax write off.

How in the world could the renovation cost $376 million? I would think they could tear the whole thing down and rebuld it for well under $100 million. I can't figure out how it could possibly cost $376 million.

What does a 2009 article about what every first family can do when they move into the White House regarding decorating (which the Obamas volunteered to fund themselves, versus having the taxpayers fund it, which is usual) - have to do with renovations repairing and updating the White House which were approved before Obama even became President?

They are two entirely different things.

I do have to admit that I am glad Obama kept Bush II's custom Oval Office rug, I like it alot (it's usual for every president to have a new one custom made)
