CBS News - Barbaro

Did you guys just see this? They had Richardson with Barbaro outside and Barbaro was tossing Richardson around like a rag doll

He stated "While not out of the wood yet, he has a clear path out of the woods"

Also stated that it could cost a few hundred thousand dollars total

Considering he made a few million I think the few hundred thousand is no big deal. I do wonder if all the pain medication will have any affect on his fertility. I am amazed no journalist has asked this question.

Most Journalist are like Lawyers, They don't really have a clue to what the jury wants answers to. Barbaro is my HOY.

This horse just continues to amaze. Nice to see that he's doing so well when the news has been so bad for other top horses as of late.

Seems to be in pretty good spirits. That's good to know. Thanks, Scavs.

I laughed because he was really dragging Richardson around. For Richardson to allow that interview AND say something as optomistic as a clear path out of the woods, he must be doing very well.

I'm not sure that I've ever heard of that as a side effect from it. I suppose they are mostly concerned with living since that is the main goal here.

It should be free... with all the publicity and funding the facility received... I'm sure it was in the millions!!! I know the Jacksons can afford it... maybe they should donate it to some horse that can't and needs help...

No way it should have been free. The facility doesnt need the publicity. I am sure it was well known to those people who are large animal owners. I am sure the compensation could be paid several ways. Heck, just give the facility one share for each breeding season until the balance is paid. But no way it should be free.

I am sure the Jacksons will be more than willing to pay the bill. I was told it probably will be around $250-500K, which is nothing to them. Veterinary hospitals don't make huge money. I bet Dr. Richardson probably only makes around $150K a year, if that.
