Badge of Silver

I thought he retired after that turf race he won at SA over the winter. Hes entered on Travers Day at Saratoga in a turf race. Interesting.

This horse is often injured, often retired, and always comes back months later. If anyone but Ken & Sarah owned him, he'd have been retired a million times over the years and stayed retired. Good to see him back...

They cited oversaturation of the stud market as the reason to bring him back. I think the same thing happened with Mass Media.

I was at Santa Anita when he won that turf race that day, it was a great turn of foot. I had heard they were gonna retire him after that race, but they were so encouraged buy it, they kept him in training.

they decided way back when not to retire him, and then an injury. he's a good horse, it's a shame he keeps having problems of one kind or another. read the other day about their plans for him the rest of the year. hope he does well...and stays in one piece.

He won that turf race because he was allowed to lope along on an easy lead. Thats all. The jockeys fell asleep at the wheel. People called Tin Man's victory lucky, you ought to watch this replay. Talk about lucky.

If he wins on Saturday, maybe Ole Ken Ramsey will do that victory dance of his like he did in Dubai when Roses in March won.

That's funny, Quest Star is entered in the same race and i thought he had been retired.....

I remember how much I liked this one before the Derby a few springs back. Too bad he continues to get hurt because I think he had some real talent.

Badge of Silver is an absolute great bet against tomorrow even though the Saratoga turf i playing so kindly to front runners.

He came down witha problem and had to scratch out Dixie.
By the way i watched a few races in the racing office next to your main man. he was not all pleased with a few rides he got. One thing I love about that guy, he hates losing. People who hate to lose tend to accomplish more things than people who don't.

Dixie,
I suffered a horrible bout of ragweed allergies that really hurt my meet. The only place I could seek minor relief was the racing office. Its inside and air conditioned.
It takes a bit of restraint to watch races there because as you know, the biggest rule is no rooting of any kind. With so many jockey agents and trainers watching who all have vested interests in the race, you can't have rooting. So everyone strains silently.
Although I wish that ragweed have never evolved on this planet, I do have to say that listening to people like "the Chief" Mr. Jerkens is an experience that is incredible. When he starst speaking about racing events of decades gone by, and the knowledge starts coming out of his mouth, everyone just listens and doesnt say a word. Its also nice to watch a race and listen to what the trainers think of their horses performances and the rides that they got.
