Conveyance beat 5 horses? The speed he was going at the turn, I'm surprised he's not still halfway down the stretch.

fpsoxfan 05-01-2010 06:43 PM

Sidneys Candy is no surprise to me.

Merlinsky 05-01-2010 06:45 PM

I was surprised to see Luckin At Lucky got up to 6th. Was the beginning not as bad as I thought, or did he just dig back in? He's a scrapper, that one. Poor Bob, I'm sure he's thinking about that draw change.

The break wasn't the problem, but he nearly got put over the rail twice before the first turn. Horse must think he's supposed to be a jumper at this point.

I hit the exacta but I am so brutally kicking myself RIGHT NOW for leaving out third

SCUDSBROTHER 05-01-2010 06:59 PM

Sadler's ran 17th, and 18th. The Breeders Cup n' T.C. races certainly elude him. Didn't he just beat this Kentucky Derby Winner? At least he won something earlier on the card. Certainly appears to struggle when supertesting is in place.

I keep meaning to congratulate WinStar. I completely forgot about Todd til I saw Zito give his shoulder a good wringing, but it's hard not to notice those familiar silks and I was so happy for them winning this with a homebred.

Both Paddy O'Prado & Jackson Bend altered course..

... when making big moves, they both lost momentum around the turn. Not saying P O'P would have won, but would have been closer. Jackson Bend never recovered.

I would have thought that American Lion, Jackson Bend, and Awesome Act would have done better.

Make Music For Me was a BIG surprise. So was Nobel's Promise, but I'm happy for his owners. Nice story.

If you read the chart, all of Pletcher's non-winners did the best they could to make another runner not do well.

Ice Box & Lookin At Lucky both could have been the winner with better trips. Noble's Promise hasn't figured out yet that he's only supposed to be a sprinter. Tough horse.

Glad Pletcher finally got his winner though!

noble's promise is a tough horse, better than i gave him credit for...but i figured one of the 'big names' would falter, should have gone with sidney's candy to run badly (i'm sure it was that first name that got that horse!!).

on to pimlico!!

how soon, btw, before someone posts this horse is sure to end the tc drought?! need to start another contest!

Bad news: Derby day is over. Good news: Only 364 days til the next one! :)

Out of curiosity, what's the earliest Derby contest or future wager?

I really wish they had Trakus for the Derby.

Just got back from AC for the race. Originally watching it I had no idea Ice Box's trip was as bad as it was...I was able to see LAL get crushed into the first turn and knew that was bad. Poor guy. What job by Borel. People got paid at the wedding the funeral for him!...I think we can all hope for a fast track next year.
