I hate 10 cent supers. For crying out loud. Playing a 10 cent super is like leaving a 10 cent tip.

I did a .10 cent super box for $2.40 and won $386.

SOREHOOF 04-26-2010 05:01 PM

Why didn't you play it for a buck? $3860 is even better!

Repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat button.

10 cent supers are a GREAT thing for the player... because if Doreen had hit it say 10 times at 10 cents for $386 each, no taxes- one time for $1, big taxes. You should be smart enough to figure that out.

And I don't even play supers much.

Where's my "moron list"...it needs updating.

If you are going to fly the Gadsden flag, shouldn't you have the first idea on how to screw the IRS?

:eek::zz:

Are you on the Breeders Cup board of trustees?

SOREHOOF 04-26-2010 05:46 PM

10 cent supers turned a $5000 super into $3860 that's why I don't like them. Let's have 10 cent pick 6's.

Wrong again.
The pick 6 is the ONLY bet that shouldn't be changed to a smaller minimum... and if I have to explain to you why, you're not worth dealing with.

And I'd like proof that a smaller bet size has changed the payoffs.

SOREHOOF 04-26-2010 06:01 PM

Why don't you like 10 cent pick 6's? They wouldn't depress the payoffs would they?

The chances of carryovers would be non-existent.

I don't know why anyone would complain about ten cent supers and the thought that they've reduced payoffs by 24% is absolutely ludicrous.

That's something that's about as probably of winning as the Mega Million. Waste of money - in my opinion.

A $1 4-number box would cost $24. I maybe do a super pick 1 or 2 times on any day I'm at the track. I'll pick two favorites and then 2 horses with odds of 10 -15.

Losing $24 would limit the amount of money I have to gamble on any given day. Losing $2.40 or $4.80 on one or two 10 cent superfectas is no big deal. I've hit a 10 cent superfecta twice - once for $386 and another time for almost $200 - I forget the exact amount. Factoring in how much I've spent on 10 cent superfectas, my winnings have covered that expense and I'm left with probably 50% profit. It's really more for fun and staying within a budget as to how much I have to wager.

My real passion is chasing after tri-fectas. Did pretty good at Keeneland opening day and the day after - hit two on each day for a total of $720. Not always that lucky, however.

Ya know, what's right for one person isn't right for someone else, but that's the business of gambling. We all hopefully do what's right for ourselves and what we can afford to lose.

SOREHOOF 04-26-2010 06:47 PM

That's cool. Those are nice scores. It's all about what's comfortable and fun. I'm greedy I guess.

The tax reason is the most important part of this discussion. I have heard that the 10 centers have made pools bigger. I have also heard that in Europe, think its the trotters, they have 10 cent P6s that have millions in the pools.
