Derby Long Shot

With the Derby right around the corner and everyone saying that this Derby is top heavy and that it is going to be chalky, I was wondering who your longshot is as of today. Without knowing post, works anything like that.......

awesome act....provided that leparoux doesn't ride him like a goat again. it was not all his fault because the pace in the wood was a joke. but that horse could get the 10 furlongs at a price.

Give me Mission Impazible and Super Saver.

Even if he is ridden with the one run you desire ,do you think he get the distance?

I'm watching 3 right now - Endorsement, Icebox and Mission Impazable.

Does anyone like Devil May Care's chances? Might be a good year with such a weak field for a filly to win

Two I'm trying to make a case for, but I just can't get past Super Saver's finish at Oaklawn. I want to puke when somebody says that was an improvement. You let a longshot sizzle fast fractions and can't get past him in a 38+ final 3 panels. You have to believe the pedigree and love of Churchill will push him through.

MI and IceBox have at least run by other horses in the stretch, so if this is as quick early as everyone thinks, they have a punchers chance.

I'm not crazy about her like I have been the two big fillies in the past couple of years, but this field is so weak that I would put her on the fringe of my top 5.

I doubt she will be entered. Will cross that bridge if she is.

What is all this **** about how bad the field is? Eskendereya is as good as anyone at this point in at least the past 7 years. Bafferts horse is really good, he is a champion and his dirt race really sticks out. I dont get why all the bashing. Eskendereya has done a lot more then Big Brown to this point, He has done more then Mine that Bird, he has done more then Giacomo. I just dont agree with all the hate for this group.

No problem with the top 2, but the rest of the crop have huge question marks. Your 3 examples are all from other weak crops this decade. Big Brown's group was pretty much garbage. Giacomo was in with Afleet Alex, but I can't think of anyone else from that group that made an impact. MTB was fortunate not to catch the best 3yo's when I Want Revenge and Quality Road had injuries, and Rachel Alexandra went to the Oaks.

Who knows anymore what synthetic efforts mean as it relates to dirt racing? I just wish everyone would quit treating it as a dirt equivalent. They might as well be prepping on the weeds.

What? I really like Eskendereya but why are his credentials for the Derby any better than Quality Road's were a year ago? Quality Road ran a huge race in the FOY last year as he ran against the race flow and dominated the field. To channel my inner Fat Man, he wiped out the field that day.

Ok, but when somebody says the crop is below par, they are talking about the depth of quality prospects. You have one, arguably two, that have clearly separated themselves thus far, and the depth, well, I just don't think it's there. We are looking at 20 entries and could only have 2 below 10-1 (I think Candy will be 8-1 or so).
