Hawthorne - What a coincidence!
Talk about dusting yourself off and getting back up again!
Timothy Thornton was shut off while trying to come up the rail in Race 6 at Hawthorne today. It sure looks like Diego Sanchez will receive some days for the incident which could have been tragic. Thornton and horse were OK. Take a look: http://www.hawthorneracecourse.com/l.../100418-06.asx Just three races later in Race 9, it almost looks like an identical set up with Sanchez's mount #6 leading while Thornton's mount #1A trying to come up the rail. It seems like Thornton initially wanted to go to the outside of Sanchez's mount, but was forced to stay inside by the #4 horse. This time Sanchez made the right choice and Thornton was succesfull. Thornton sure has a set of cojones. http://www.hawthorneracecourse.com/l.../100418-09.asx |
Onions....:tro:

Diego Sanchez should absolutely get some days for that crap in the 6th. He almost sent horse and rider over the rail multiple times and Thornton did a great job to avoid injury.
|
They gave Serpa in NY 30 days for similar.

Watching the head-on, after he takes out Thornton whipping right-handed, he then switches to the left hand, and drifts out and interferes with another horse. Great ride:rolleyes:
|
It was bad enough just viewing the pan shot....the head-on was flat out scary.
Hope Sanchez enjoys his vacation; he's gonna get one. |
I was impressed with the outrider, paying total attention - he saw it coming, as Tim came off he was already in motion after the horse.
