Awesome Act

Lost a front shoe at the start of The Wood when he stumbled. How much could this have affected his performance?

alot if its true..looks like number 47 on the trainer excuse book.:rolleyes:

pucknut 04-05-2010 06:39 AM

looked to me that laperoux had a strangle hold on him throughout
i look for big things from this horse in may

Makes a great difference... Would have lost by only 7 instead of 10 lengths.

damn, you stole my line.. :)

Regarding where next for Awesome Act, Id love to see him take a bit of a rest and then go to California for some 9f G1 like the Goodwood. I reckon he'd be a class act on the synthetics!!

miraja2 04-05-2010 08:40 AM

If they go to the Derby with him, I think he might end up being a solid include at the bottom of exotics.

I understand this colt didn't recover very quickly from the Gotham. I suspect that affected his performance more than anything, though no one was going to beat Eskendereya.

I think it's certainly possible.

Cool.

For a minute there, I thought you were serious about laying up a horse, with a huge shot at making a dent in the 3yo division this spring and summer, for 6 months to await a stakes race on a surface he was dusted on in his only attempt.

grand so, so he wasnt dusted in the Wood???

and regarding his slightly below average run at Kempton, Id say it was a lot more to do with coming back from a week's rest than the surface!

Ive been a big big fan of this guy for a while but can't really see him being a player in the Derby!

Joey, do you like movies about gladiators? :D

The trainer was making excuses before the race. Something about the weather being a problem for works etc.
