Weird goings on today in racing

First, Giacamo's debut runner wins by 8.5 lengths in a 4.5 furlong race.

Then Borrego's debut runner wins as well.

Then I read Thorn Song had his first workout back!

Who's that Pacheco chick that was on NBC today? She's interesting to look at.

That was Jessica Pacheco. She gives her selections from the paddock at Fair Grounds, and does a pretty good job. I believe she also works at Arlington.

I called the race of Giacomo's first winner - the second Manor Downs Thoroughbred Futurity Trial. Believe it or not, there was actually some decent breeding in the race - all first time starters. To say she wasn't asked to run is an overstatement. Trained by Cash Asmussen and ridden by Tony McNeil. 8-5 was a laughable gift.

Now qualifies for the $50,000 final on April 18.

Did you bet the farm?

Just outside Austin.

I didn't bet the farm, but called a friend who has no clue about racing but was there and asked him..."how much money do you have in your wallet?"

I might be wrong, but I think Borregos might do good on turf, kinda like RHT.

Yeah, it does seem far fetched, but usually DRF would have caught something like this by now, so it's kind of weird.
