WISE CHOICE

The Indomitable DrugS 03-15-2010 05:15 PM

No ... he wasn't even trained by Gary Sciacca either.

Cigar beat him in the Oaklawn Park Handicap - the race that ended his winning streak.

Cigar ran a 121 Beyer in victory that day .. the only time in his career he ever broke into the 120's.

Silver Goblin was hung up 4 wide on the first turn and gave a good account of himself in defeat.

Cigar, Concern, Urgent Request, Best Pal. Amazing what a Grade I field used to look like.

It was a race or 2 after The Donn where Holy Bull got hurt....that was the big story, not Cigar's 6 length win.

Yeah - he had some ugly lines in a few races.

Though he had wins in the Indiana Derby and Sir Beaufort mixed in.
