Pretty stupid and clueless analogy. He's talking about a guy who refused the job with Obama for the longest time because of his grade school daughters (keeping them in their school, not moving them, etc). The guy is well-known as a family man.

No one says Rahm isn't tough - he is.

Uh, If the guy is a well known family man than the analogy makes even more sense.

You see he is so singleminded in getting bills passed he would sacrifice his much loved children to get it done. He is THAT committed.

You do realize he didnt actually mean he would physically strap his children to a train, right?

You do realize that analogy doesn't encompass that which is unimaginable?

The import was that the guy is ruthlessly careless of the damage he does.

You do realize that didnt requires an apostrophe, right? I don't want 'Zig to freak.

You said the guy was stupid for making the comment because Rahm is some sort of noted family man. Your inference is strictly your own.

i would suggest everyone read the article i linked, long as it is, about rahm. he's not singleminded at all, and actually told obama, more than once, that he should attempt to make small changes to health care. a change here, another there, to eventually attain the total reform desired. obama said no, that he wanted the overall all or nothing approach that he's now spent nine months trying to get passed. after all, how do you eat an elephant? one bite at a time. rahm wants to succeed, that doesn't mean he takes a single minded approach to do so.
