3/5: Santa Anita ($332k C/O)

Had nice run at Aqueduct as first half of day's action including $224 P4 on $48 play. Santa Anita was as difficult as promised though with not a single favorite able to succeed during the P6 with a $332k double carryover available Friday as a result. Much more manageable sequence here too, and pool should swell towards $1,500,000... Hope you did well Thursday! Brad Free joins Rick Hammerle at Santa Anita tonight on "At the Races" to preview the Big Cap card, as well as Gus and Nick and trainer guests.

Many play it but don't say it. A friend of mine hit one two weeks ago for 900.00.

Never heard of Charlene Hunt -- was this her 2nd lifetime start (one more than the horse)?

I can't believe someone had the 2 and the longshot that won the 5th on their Pick 6 ticket

If it was her second lifetime start, wouldn't she be a 10lb bug?

I think she rides at the California fairs, and a little at Los Al and Golden Gate, but I am probably wrong

It was her second start in the last 14 months (2009 & 2010) if I am reading my Brisnet PPs correctly. Both starts were with the same trainer who only participated in 12 races in 2009 & 2010 (with a $2.72 ROI, which just went up).

That Greek guy is able to win these maiden claimers. It's the rider that kept people off it. Believe me, he knew the horse was coming in. If he thought it was gunna be close, then he would of had someone like Santiago up. He can train. Jockey threw me off the trail, cuz he usually has someone better up on his winners.

Got to love those butchered verb tenses.

After many years of both observing and playing the Pick 6 in SoCal, I am never surprised by days like this. There are numerous syndicates that trounce on these pools. I personally know of 2 in Vegas and one in L.A. And it's very big money which translates into lots of ticket coverage. Not to mention the shrewd clockers (see recent DRF article) who get involved.
