AQU cancels Friday/Saturday; LRL cancels Friday
 

Just got the text, no racing at the Big A on Friday.

It looks like it is about to get ugly on Long Island, I am not surprised.

Santa Anita could also be in trouble too...

Saturday: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 5 pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Some of the storms will produce heavy rainfall. High near 59. Breezy, with a southwest wind between 13 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Same forecast as last week.

So what about AQU Saturday, more snow?

They had to run the 9th??? Horse went down in the stretch in a driving "snowicane!"

If the weather reports are accurate, the bulk of the snow is coming tomorrow into Saturday morning, which makes it unlikely Aqueduct will run on Saturday. Of course, with weather reports, that is a big if.

It's been a long time since I've seen a snowstorm like this. I'm 40 miles north of NYC and we have around 10 inches of heavy snow. If the worst is still yet to come I would not be surprised if NYRA cancels Saturday's races.

NY1 is saying the worst of the snow should be over by noon Friday, but the weather won't really clear until Monday.

It's bad in the city- guy was killed in Central Park when a tree branch hit him and another tree fell on a bus on Fifth Ave.

High of 76 here in Scottsdale today Friday with some rain possible Saturday and Sunday. Turf Paradise will be fast and firm today with 9 races and full fields.50 cent P4s start in race 1 and the 6th. good luck all.

Saturday live racing cancelled in New York..

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Due to snow and wind, live racing has been cancelled at Aqueduct Racetrack for Saturday, February 27. On Saturday, the facility will be open for simulcasting, and telephone and internet wagering will be available. Live racing was also cancelled for today, Friday, February 26, and the facility will be closed with no simulcasting. However, telephone and internet wagering are available today.

The NYRA Racing Office will be closed today, and will take double entries on Saturday for Wednesday, March 3, and Thursday, March 4. On Wednesday, post time changes to 1:00 p.m. The Stymie, originally scheduled to be run on Saturday, February 27, has been moved to Sunday, March 7.

Crazy I was just outside and was going to post that I bet tomorrow is off too.

LAUREL PARK CANCELS FRIDAY'S LIVE RACING

LAUREL, MD. 02-26-10---Due to high winds, Laurel Park has cancelled the live racing card for Friday, February 26. Laurel and Pimlico Race Course will be open for simulcasting.

This is the seventh card cancelled this year. Snow forced the central Maryland track to cancel live racing on Jan. 30, Feb. 5-6-10-11-12.

Laurel Park is expected to be open Saturday for live racing. The 10-race card includes the $70,000 Miracle Wood Stakes for 3-year-olds.

So...Magna 5 looking Iffy now?

i'm 20 miles from laurel here at work and the wind is a blowin hard, been that way for the last day and a half. Don't know what the forcast is for tom. but i wouldn't be shocked if they cancled yet again
