cakes44 02-15-2010 03:27 PM

I wonder if Baffert and/or Sadler will ever ship there again?

theMOUSSEisloose 02-15-2010 03:27 PM

Arletta 02-15-2010 03:29 PM

33 degrees for crying out loud!! Come ride the Inner Dirt. That's a nice Feb. day. Did anyone see the crap they were running in at Laurel?

they also mentioned the wind chill, gusting to 22 mph. not a good day there.

SOREHOOF 02-15-2010 04:04 PM

I know. I was really looking forward to that race. I don't want anyone risking their life anymore than they already do on a daily basis. Man, woman, or beast.

Just a minor hiccup on the road to the Derby.

SOREHOOF 02-15-2010 04:46 PM

Rescheduled this Sat. redraw Thus.

packerbacker7964 02-15-2010 04:58 PM

Snowing and blowing there today. My buddy lives in Little Rock and said it's snowed more days there more than here in Michigan so far this winter. We went back in early Feb and they canceled Friday-Sunday. What a nice trip.

That Sucks.

slotdirt 02-15-2010 05:06 PM

If tracks in the NE and Mid-Atlantic rescheduled because of *OMG* 22 degree wind chills, there wouldn't be any cards run between the months of November and March. Wimps.

packerbacker7964 02-15-2010 05:13 PM

Oaklawn has a sandy based soil on the track. And trust you me if you were from the South you'd know this already. Snow shuts the place down. I mean people leave work early and they make a mad dash for the Super Market. I worked at a market growing up and when the radio said there's a chance for snow, just a chance, man we were swamped for days. I think the people who owned stores paid the weatherman off to boost sales.

"I don't think FG or GP has ever had to reschedule a 3YO stakes race. OP, maybe--they do get snow and frozen tracks occasionally."

hoovesupsideyourhead 02-15-2010 05:28 PM

they should work on the tractors wile the track is closed:rolleyes:

Oaklawnfan 02-15-2010 09:02 PM

Folks this really sucks. Here you've got a staff who really wants to give the public the best racing in America. Their resume bears that out. Hang in there please
