Quick Short Story About Saratoga
So I am mulling around Daytona Speedway this morning killing time before the races this afternoon. I see a Budweiser Clydesdale (no way I spelled that right) chillin by his self with two employees near were I was so I cruise over being the horse guy I have become. I start shooting the breeze with these two Budweiser guys who travel, as I found out, with the horses all over the country. I ask them if this guy (meaning the horse) was at keeneland last year in October cause I saw them down there. Sure he was he said and then said this -
Hey since you love T-Bred racing make sure you get to Saratoga before you die. I told him I have already checked that off my list and look forward to many return trips. Small world man. |
I met a couple of the Clydesdales up at Saratoga a couple of years ago. They are really cool beasties.
They looked like they could eat one of the race horses and then come back for a pony! :D |
Up in Sonoma they have a home for retired Clydesdale horses, I drive by them out in their pasture when I go up to visit my horse. When they get old, some of them turn kind of gray, just like people do. They're really cool to see, not something you expect when you're driving through the country. They will come to you if you yell, "Budweiser!" at them... really, they do... that's how we got one of them to come to the fence so we could feed him carrots :o

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg always had Clydesdales in their barns there. Those horses are HUGE. |

Carrots? In that situation if I came to the fence I'd be expecting a Budweiser. 22 oz plastic bottle preferred. :) |
