The Polycrap shuffle

Anyone mad about the fact that the mandate of synthetic tracks for California was the main nail in the coffin for the late Bay Meadows track?

Just a couple of years ago, with the mandate and the impending costs that would cause, we lost a track. Granted, we might have lost it anyway, eventually, but racing would be well served to avoid such mandates and the stresses they cause in the future.

Yes it was stupid to mandate the change, but it has worked for GG.

Santa Anita's dirt track was being played with for years by the track super and it was not a good dirt track.

Del Mar was maintained by the same Super, Steve Woods and I understand that they just parted ways. Enough said about that problem.

Hollywood did appear to be a good dirt track and its too bad that they will be gone as soon as the real estate market pick up again.

the whole polycrap issue is crap. santa anita closes every time it rains..so much for all weather. statistically, ny dirt tacks have been safer. so much for the "safety factor". the mandate was california and racing being had. if they had spent half the time and money on dirt and base, they would of been fine. after that you have the fact that it changes outcomes of races and favors certain horses. horses have been running on earth since before us but somehow carpet fibers are better....real geniuses, i'll tell you......whats even funnier is: after its been exposed as a complete sham, farce and joke. you have morons standing by it. i guess they are going to resurface SA every year just to prove sensible people wrong....lol

Can you post those figures? Where are you getting them from?
