Washington D.C. More openings this coming fall.

johnny pinwheel 01-08-2010 03:14 PM

i would of asked that about 15 years ago when both parties passed all of those trade agreements. this is the result. i remember ross perot talking about a giant sucking sound of jobs leaving the country. well the last drop just went down the drain. i heard wal marts was hiring......you can work there selling SH!T from every other country but ours......lol;)

randallscott35 01-08-2010 03:20 PM

But you see it's still not his economy. He just hires criminals to run it.

Riot 01-08-2010 03:24 PM

The President just gave a great speech on the most recent terrorist attack, he's already implemented changes in the way the involved organizations have run for the past 8 years, his approval ratings are moving right back up, so some have to do everything to distract from his immediate successes, I guess.

Our President has been too busy keeping the US out of depression, putting out a stimulus package that worked, starting to shut down Gitmo, beefing up and concentrating on Afghanistan while getting out of Iraq, paying serious attention to Al Q. in other countries with great success, finally getting health care reform passed (in a manner that will help reduce the deficit and keep Medicare solvent another 15-20 years), restarting stem cell research, etc. He's got a Treasury Secretary that needs to be fired, banks that need to still be biotch-slapped.

He's already started on jobs. More will come. 10% unemployment isn't going to go away in a year.

People are finally starting to notice that while the far, far right crazies have been screeching about birth certificates, Muslims, Communists, Socialists and Hitler; the GOP has been throwing a temper tantrum voting no to everything and screaming he's adding to the overwhelming deficit they left this country, rather than participating in any meaningful way in the legislative process they were elected to serve, this President has had one of the most accomplished first legislative years of any President in recent history.

Am I glad I voted for Obama over McCain and Caribou Barbie? Ten times a day, yes. We would have already probably invaded Iran. I can live without that.

Let the screaming and personal attacks begin ;)

The Republicans have been kind of locked out of any "legislative process". They do get blamed for being obstructionists when the House or Senate can't get enough votes from their own side of the aisle. This congress does not NEED any votes from the Repubs to advance their socialist agenda. Obama gave a good speech? Which frikkin one? It took 3 days for any comment at all and now they can't shut him up. Like most of the liberal lawyers in the Govt. he never met a problem that couldn't be talked away. If the stimulus worked so well why don't they give back the 60% (give or take) that hasn't been spent yet? If they are doing such a good job they won't need it to buy re-election will they?

No, they haven't. Have you not noticed the never ending obstructionism, the constant fillibuster threats? From day one? On every little thing? Every vote? Blocking budget approval for our troops just to delay? What has the GOP vote been on every issue before Congress and the Senate this year? Check that out.

Plenty of GOP stuff was included in the house healthcare bill - including tort reform. They were specifically invited by Obama to submit what they wanted, and they did.

The Dems finally have got it right - lock the obstructionist politicos who are more worried about re-relection than healthcare reconciliation out of the process, and they absolutely deserve it. Dump the obstructionist crybabies and get something done in spite of them.

LOL - Bush didn't speak for a week, then mentioned shoebomber Reid only in passing. Obama had a statement issued the same day, then addressed the country on day three, and gave a great speech last night. And has already altered transportation policies to give greater security, including profiling.

Where's the complaining far right, who have been calling for profiling all over Fox News since Christmas, saying, "about time, thank you" for that last bit?

BTW, what's up with Rudy Guliani? I thought he decided to drop politics? Hitting talk shows and news orgs in the last 24 hours, saying there were no terrorist attacks on George Bush's watch? With a straight face? Mr. 9-11?

sounds just like when the reps had control and the dems did the same. how great the sin when someone else is committing it.

One might look back at how much the Dems did during those times ... they were absolutely not completely, stupidly obstructionist as is occuring now.

Weird thing today: Eric Cantor (minority whip) came out today, saying one couldn't and shouldn't blame only Obama on poor economy and no jobs. Gee, ya think?

This is fiction

Well, I appreciate the complete transparency by which the Administration and Democrats are conducting themselves. Truly a model for future generations:wf

Actually, yeah, Timmi, they have been quite transparent - check out the .gov websites.

You, of course, are referring to C-Span asking to televise the House-Senate healthcare negotiations I assume?

That one was on The Daily Show- the healthcare debate tapes C-Span has on their website have gotten 10 views and like 92 views. Really a barn-burner for people wanting to see it <g>

What Bill was that troop funding attached to? Profiling? I guess that's better than a full cavity search. And please, PLEASE, stop bringing up Bush. He hasn't been President for well over a year and a half. Please. If you have to compare Obama to Bush to make him look good, you kind of prove my point for me. The dems were fillibustering judicial nominees. A big difference from legislative fillibustering. As far as the Republicans voting no on everything. Riot, I would have too.
