Hey Mike (Oracle), is the bet still on?

Wait a While v. Lady of Venice tomorrow.....I'll take LOV and you got your girl WAW....How much? Let me know.....

Nostradamus 08-17-2006 09:15 AM

That should be a great race but I would rather have the LOV side of the bet, especially after the Gorella performance.

oracle80 08-17-2006 09:29 AM

Sure Joel, lets make it a gentleman's wager, 10 bucks just for bragging rights. Quite frankly I will get a better price on Wait A While at the track then I will with you. LOV should be 4-5 and Wait will be like 8-5. But thats ok. Only question I have is whether its who beats who or if one must win the race in order for the bet to count. Whatever you want is fine with me.

Doesn't matter to me...you call the rules...and yeah, it is just for fun....obviously, betting heads up for money is not exactly the greatest proposition in this sport, unless you know LOV will be odds-on :D ....anyway, no big deal....you call it....you were the first person I thought about when I saw them in against each other for the first time..

Just thought I'd bring this on up...

Congrats, Mike.

Congrats, Mike.

It was bittersweet for Oracle because it was another win for Gomez. That's 3 winners for Gomez so far today.

Maybe so, but Mike still liked WAW even with Gomez up.

Got a great call from Hooves and Byk this morning. Ask Byk when you see him this weekend about the great gift I got coming:D

Kev we could go double or nothing on the Yanks Sox series(not including this afternoons game) in the last 4 games. 2-2 is a push, if somebody wins 3 or 4 of the next 4 they win. Are you on you Big Papi stroker?

Cunningham Racing 08-19-2006 09:06 AM

Nice win, Mike....LOV definately didn't display the same turn of foot I saw in person at CD, but oh well....she may not have caught Wait a While anyway......nice call...this filly is for real, I guess.....I just couldn't really fathom that a Maria's Mon out of an A.P. Indy mare would prefer and excel on the grass over dirt...wow!

I owe ya a ten spot, man....give me an address or send me a double or nothing proposal...

Gander 08-19-2006 09:09 AM

Yuck, I could have given Wait a While a better race than that. What an awful run out of that so called wonderful turf filly. From what I've seen in her last 2, "impressive" is about as far off as I can come up with for an adjective for Lady of Venice. Another overhyped Biancone horse.

All of that hype based on 1 race where she had everything set up for her with them dueling up front and she comes on at the end to pass horses that were stumbling around like drunk sailors enjoying their first night in port.:D

Gander 08-19-2006 09:19 AM

were stumbling around like drunk sailors

Love that line!

Danzig 08-19-2006 10:00 AM

so what will this mean for gorella come bc time? the connections own her and lady of venice, and were hoping to run LOV in the filly and mare turf if she showed enough ability....will they now attempt gorella at that distance, or keep her at her best and run in the mile?
