Gulfstream Simulcast Host

Anyone know who is going to be hosting the simulcast show from GP this winter? I heard Roly Hoyt is out and figure Ron Niccoletti must be too. I heard Caton Bredar's name mentioned but have seen nothing confirming that. I wish they would bring Jan Rushton out of semi-retirement as I believe her brother's situation is improving.

I think it's going to be Coach Pants and myself before the day starts and between races and our third analyst will be RockHardTen1985 with all of DrugS statistics in tow.

Caton Bredar would be a good addition.

I thought it was her Mother who was ill?

My understanding is that the problem was with Rushton's brother and she is his primary caregiver. Regardless, she should be back in the game.

She 'should' be back... Why? To reiterate information that was apparant to any reader of the PP's? Or to tell players that a trainer told her they liked their chances? Jan Rushton is a wonderful person who had a nice career around racing. And she is selfless doing what she is for her brother who has ALS. But she was a mannequin on broadcasts and even failed to truly deliver off her experience as a gallop rider. If that's what you want in your handicapping/paddock hosts, fine, but I think the players are demanding more.

In a few years ... we might have the first of many sired by DrugS out of a full sister to RHT '85.

I am moving in rapidly on his sis.

Does RHT know your stud fee yet?

I'd rather have her commentary and some insight than talking heads just rattling off their useless picks. I'd rather just have the track announcer feed than the vast majority of simulcasts hosts out there. Actually, I must say that Jill Byrne and Mark Johnson do a nice job together.

Whos useless picks are you talking about? Andy is really good if not the best, dont get me wrong I dont really listen and handicap for myself, but he is still the goods.

What do Jill Byrne and Mark Johnson do that isn't rattle off picks?

I guess each person is looking for a different thing in these feeds but when I listen I'd like insight on that race by the person talking and that's EXACTLY what you get on the new NYRA feed.

NYRA is far and away the best, hands down. Nothing else is close.

I agree, not only Andy... Jason and Eric have both improved IMO, they have stepped there game up in Andys presence.

Oh good... My first reaction was right. The thread-start was indeed simply a smokescreen to insult Serling/Donovan/Blewitt.

The Indomitable DrugS 12-09-2009 07:38 PM

Jan Rushton?

I think this thread was started to insult the Beulah twins.

Say,whatever happened to the Beulah twins,I never see them anymore.

I don't know ... but I think they might have become the first and second people in history who ever ate their way out of an on-air handicapping job.

I think they went on the Chris Lincoln and Tom Durkin diet.
