If Bush tried that the sh!t would really hit the fan. What happened to all the watchdogs on the left? Will you give up your Liberty to the Democrats, but not to the Republicans? Terrorists tried in civilian court while excuses are made for that poor soul who murdered 13 in Texas? I'm surprised the left hasn't gotten around to blaming the gun for the TERRORIST attack at Fort Hood.

The guy who wrote it is a lefty.

I find it amusing when people try to say that the terror act at Ft Hood has anything to do with gun control laws. Last time I looked guns were kind of required at military bases.

SOREHOOF 11-16-2009 03:07 PM

I realize he's a lefty. Some liberals actually care about the Economy and National Security. I don't find it amusing shifting blame away from a cold blooded killer to a gun. Chuckie Schumer is complaining that the FBI was investigating this radical Islamist and he was still able to purchase a gun in August. Obama doesn't want a congressional investigation into this matter. His new national security policies might be questioned. Political correctness will get us all killed eventually.

brianwspencer 11-16-2009 03:31 PM

Seriously though, the majority of this argument is that he cannot support Obama because terror suspects, with or without evidence, can be held indefinitely without trial.

This is not news....at least not recent news.

My WW2 vet grandfather who is sharp as can be at 86 says if he was younger he would leave the U.S.

SOREHOOF 11-16-2009 03:37 PM

Threat of jail for not buying into the Govt. health plan and not carrying health insurance doesn't rile up the left. We must protect the rights of terror suspects though.

Go where? Cuba? There is no place left to go. Freedom and Liberty must be defended here and now. From threats both foreign and DOMESTIC. Including, but not limited to, our Govt.

So the creation of the Department of Homeland Security must have really scared you?

That's because it only exists in some folks imagination.

Meanwhile, the threat of us going to jail for not carrying car insurance is, alas, very real.

I'm sure Hasan in Texas will suitably fry in the electric chair of the most aggressive death-penalty state of the union. Whoops, no, he'll be tried in military court. Firing squad? What does our military use?

I am reminded of the brilliant mathematician John Nash, the paranoid schizophrenic made generally famous by the movie, "A Beautiful Mind". His fear of government plot, top-secret activity, and Russian threat; his imagining he was working for the CIA, etc. If Nash was experiencing that today, instead of his converting his office and a garage into a demonstration of his paranoid schizophenrenia (his cutouts, charts, etc) - he'd have an internet webpage and a few thousands "followers".

a somali child??

yeah, i know there are other things he put in there that could use some serious examination, but he makes that criminal sound like he's six years old.

the death penalty is one that can be issued by the military. it's still on the books.

that response always makes me shake my head. i criticize the govt at times, but would never want to leave. just like my husband i don't alway see eye to eye, but divorce is absolutely not on the table. i criticize things at work, but i remain there as well.

If we didn't get there after a President being an idiot got caught having sex in the Oval Office and still didn't get there after having the most embarrassing, pompous gasbag in office for eight years after that, I'm pretty sure we'll never get there.

Says significantly more about you than it does about America.

Hasan will be tried in military court, found guilty and his paralyzed a$$ will be 'allowed' to lay for hours on end in his own crap because the military will be his guards, caretakers etc. More importantly his fellow prisoners will be military so he won't be allowed the privilege or refuge of being protected and nurtured like a 'pet' with the muslim population found in any State prison. I imagine eventually someone on the left will fight the death penalty w/some off-the-wall argument like he can't stand up to face the firing squad. :zz:
