Aqueduct 11/28 -- Remsen/Cigar Mile/Gazelle

I'm going to be in New York for the holiday this year and have never been to Aqueduct, so figured I'd head out this day while I'm there.

About 90% sure I'm going to spend the day out there that Saturday. Anyone else planning on going?

If you don't mind crowds - that weekend is my favorite weekend to spend in NYC of all of the times I've been.

I'd much rather be outside at the track, but Aqueduct can get REALLY damn cold so I'd try to get in the dining room if you can. If you are outside, at least no one else is there so you can get a great spot on the rail. :D

Yea, I was there for the holiday last year, but only had a few days -- this year I've got something like 11 days off work so I'll be able to do a bit more and figured a trip to Aqueduct was in order since I'd never been and there will be some quality racing.

Though it will be tough to top the tourist heaven of the Charmin public restroom from last year in Times Square :D

I'll be there. PM me Brian.

Usually third floor Clubhouse.

I'll probably be there. I usually sit in the Man O'War room if I'm not down on the rail taking pictures.

Cool -- let me know if you're going to be there, I'd love to meet a few more DT'ers while I'm in town.

Is Aqueduct a cool hang? Are there areas to sit and watch the races live yet not outside?

Gales, you going to be out there on Sat?

brian if you have time after the track , head over to Don Pepe's , they have a lot of pictures from the Big A from years ago on the walls , the place is great , baked clams , chicken parm , penne vodka ---you won't be disappointed with the food

Anyone ever eat the buffet in Aqueduct's Equestris Restaurant?

Thinking of booking a reservation there for Sat.

Or how about any of the other restaurants there? I know theres one that has burgers and rotissiere chicken. Is that any good?

I was in the Equestris years ago for a tourney. I thought it was really nice in there. You might even have a choice between buffett and a sit down meal. From what I remember it was ok (not nearly as nice as the one in the Pegasus/Meadowlands). Chicken, macaroni/pasta (whatever you call it), salads and so on. Not sure if there was a carving station. But it was a nice place to watch the races.

The food at Meadowlands is pretty good!

Thanks. You have to get the buffet if you go Thurs-Sat of next weekend. A la carte is only for Wed and Sun. Its $30 a person and it sounds like they have a carving station and omletes, etc. Sounds like a good deal if you want a nice seat all day and after making the 7 hour round trip, I want to sit somewhere nice and avoid walking around. I'm hoping for a lot of pasta because you cant really wrong there.
