Trevor Denman to retire?

Was that what they were talking about today?

If so, and I know he has his critics the past decade, but props for a great career.

No,He is NOT retiring.

MaTH716 11-07-2009 08:59 PM

I admit that I'm not a big fan of Trevor. But with that being said, I thought he did a great job with the call of the Classic. That was some of his best work.

Alan07 11-07-2009 09:08 PM

what did you hear and where?

It was a joke about the dude who did the segment on race calling. They later said on the EPSN broadcast that is was a joke.

and for a minute there i was worried i wouldn't get to hear who was 'scraping the paint' anymore.

eajinabi 11-07-2009 11:25 PM

The reason why Trevor said that cause tommorow is closing day at Oak Tree and he is leaving on vacation thereafter. We all know that Vic was calling the races at Hollywood Park. Does this mean Vic is not calling the races this meet???

Left Bank 11-07-2009 11:29 PM

Wow,Talk about something getting blown out of proportion....

They also announced that Steve Byk would call all races starting in 2010 during his show in a drastic downsizing effort by the industry.

Additionally, it has been reported that Steve can call two races at the same time due to his amazing multi-tasking abilities.

I didn't know there was a horse named Readows Ecky.

actually made me laugh when he butchered the name of Ready's Echo.

"Readows Ecky flying late!!" on the final call of the race

besides that - not a bad job, but still would prefer Durkin or Vic

flifishri 11-08-2009 10:07 PM

Never calls the split times EVER...why is that...is that a Santa Anita thing or Denman's thing? It's unbeeeeeeelieevable really!
