I just scanned over this entire card, Its really nice. The mile turf race is loaded, and the Goodwood looks to have 2-5 BCC runners.

Colonel John got a heck of a ride in the Pacific Classic

As many as 7 horses could go Goodwood-BCC. DAM.

Anyone remember the good ole days when the Lady's Secret was a handicap?

In her first Lady's Secret try, Azeri gave 12lbs to a soon to be Multiple Grade 1 winner in Starrer and beat her by 3 with a 102 Beyer.

In her 2nd Lady's Secret try, Azeri gave 10lbs to Got Koko ... a horse who previously swept the entire La Canada Series over the track. She finished a close 3rd to Got Koko and ran a 101.

Now, Zenyatta will be carrying the same weight as Made For Magic ... a horse who ran for a 16K tag at Golden Gate six weeks ago.

It's impressive how she ducks a wet track at Churchill, passes on the Hollywood Gold Cup while stablemate Life Is Sweet is served up, ducks the Pacific Classic, no Goodwood try at her best track, the handicap is lifted from the Clement Hirsch at Del Mar for the first time, the handicap is no more for the Lady's Secret. But hey, all she does is win races.

One of the few things for which everyone should give thanks to Jess Jackson.

Not with the campaign that Summer Bird has had.

I guess Malibu Prayer and Flashing just couldn't make the trip out west, so they could really test her.

Flashing is a Grade 1 winner....

I think Cocoa Beach will get a perfect trip and be a major handful for Zenyatta in this one.

You think they colluded with Del Mar to do this to the Lady's Secret this year to draw Zenyatta?

Mock Malibu Prayer and Flashing all you want ... but anyone with an IQ over 30 and capable of reading a racing form knows they aren't total jokes.

Malibu Prayer's 2nd at Delaware was to Careless Jewel .. her 2nd at Monmouth was to Just Jenda.

Flashing's Test win may have been over a pure dogcrap field .. but, she's no pig. The competive defeat in a 400K Gr 3 was at the hands of Informed Decision .. the best synthetic sprinter in the land this year.

The difference between RA and Zenyatta ... is that when RA has faced dogs, she absolutely layed the smack to them .. though, in the Mother Goose, MP and Flashing kind of laid the smack to each other as well.

Here's the two who Zenyatta dominated in her nose win last time out...

What makes them so much better than Malibu Prayer and Flashing?

I believe the Yellow Ribbon may be the best class of horses I've seen face each other in the US since (before?) the Derby.

Really? I don't even think that's the best Grade I for fillies and mares on the turf since the Derby.

I'd take the Diana field against that bunch any day.

If Jess really thinks RA is good enough to challenge the champ, he ought to do just that! What's that saying? - "great horses don't need to bring their track with them"

slotdirt 10-09-2009 07:44 AM

I think Rachel already challenged her closest competitor for Horse of the Year honors and won by open lengths.
