The Forego

I think its time to discuss something other than Rachel, Quality Road and Summer Bird. The topic is getting beaten to death.

Any early thoughts on who we may see Saturday in the Forego?

Fabulous Strike- Not in. Will run next in the Vosburgh.

Who are probables?

Kodiak Kowboy- In and at preferred distance of 7F. Last was clearly a prep.

Pyro- In. Turned into a closing sprinter. They should have done this long ago.

Gold Trippi- Won "the Pyro" race on opening day but received perfect set up nand benefitted from Pyro's titanic like trip. Not likely to win again.

Driven by Success- In. Levine runner winless in last 5, but always tries. Maybe hes just not a Grade 1 horse.

Riley Tucker- Badly overbet against Pyro. Will try again.

Gayego- Looked sharp in comebacker but faces stern test.

I cant imagine he wont be the favorite and deservingly so, given no Fabulous Strike and the 7F distance.
Hes no favorite of mine. Beats me when I bet against him, runs up the track when I use him. Driven by Success is a favorite of mine, but we'll have to see whos in and whos out. Maybe he has a shot at 3rd.

You left out the better of the Levine pair...GO GO SHOOT.

But with the way the Godolphin stable is running, it wont matter who shows up.

I don't think Go Go Shoot is pointing to the Forego. These are the probables according to DRF:

Pyro
Multidude
Law Enforcement
Driven by Success
Kodiak Kowboy
Gold Trippi
True Quality
My Pal Charlie
Peace Chant

NT

Peace Chant? I thought his career went downhill

I wonder if Doug O'Neill will ship Peace Chant across country to get gate Scratched like Modification.

I don't want to sound too Harvey Pack-ish, however I always wondered why they would name a sprint race after Forego who even though he did win the eclispe for outstanding sprinter once was certainly more well known as one of the greatest handicap routing horses in America.

Watch the 1974 Carter and you will be saying he should have a 7f race named after him.

He was a great horse, and I mean GREAT certainly by today's standards. I was fortunate to remember him and seeing him run on TV when I was a little tot .

I believe Go Go Shoot is being pointed towards a rematch with Fabulous Strike in the Vosburgh on Oct 3rd.

Doesnt look like too many early speed types. True Quality looks like the only possible one who could go with Driven by Success.
