Calvin Borel, who guided Mine That Bird to his 50-1 upset in the Kentucky Derby, will be back aboard the gelding for his next two starts - the $350,000 Goodwood Stakes on Oct. 10 and the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 7 - trainer Chip Woolley confirmed Monday morning.

It will be funny watching Tiago run by him in the Goodwood.

Well both horses are done, and it might be a battle for 6 and 7th, but MTB sucks.

TitanSooner 08-31-2009 03:01 PM

they'll both be sniffing Rail Trip's ass

The Indomitable DrugS 08-31-2009 03:03 PM

I don't think they'll get close enough to him at any point of the race to do that.

Their only chance will be in the post parade...............

Gander 08-31-2009 03:33 PM

Do you give Mine that Bird more or less of a chance in the Goodwood than you did before the gates opened in the KY Derby?...because if I recall not many people ever heard of the horse, much less gave him a chance in a race that dwarfs the Goodwood by about a million percent.
I mean, if he can pass 19 horses in the Derby why not 9 or 10 in the Goodwood?

cause these are older horses, some of which can run. Rail Trip will drown that horse.

i don't know why they have such a hard on for borail, hes not exactly setting the world on fire. the only meet he seems to excel at is CD. they probably would of done better with a local guy. with his running style. i would not make fun of him. zenyatta has made a career running that way out there. if he takes to the track theres really not much to beat.

Speaking of... I read yesterday where she is trying to make a "comeback".. Not sure if she will ever be as good or popular like she was 10yrs ago. She really made some poor choices and hopefully she has all that behind her now. Her voice will never be the same though.

Guess she had a mini-concert somewhere in New York (Maybe Central Park?) yesterday and had some voice problems. She'll come around and hopefully make a nice comeback.
Can't see her without thinking of that clip they play on the Soup all the time where she yells "Kiss my ASS!!!"...love that clip.

Funny Cide was a nice horse, MTB is average.
