XM & ATR Radio question

Just got a new ride with XM and I thought ATR was on 104 - but the radio doesnt have 104 on it...is it becasue I have the incorrect channel or because the initial free package is not complete with all the XM offerings?

Thanks

I am pretty sure that you have to subscribe to the best of Sirius which will get you not only ATR, but Howard Stern as well. It is well worth it and you won't be listening to much regular radio again. Good Luck with the new ride!

Root..

"Best of Sirius" is an additional $4/month... You get Howard 100 & 101, all the NFL, Martha Stewart, NASCAR, Playboy, and... me. :o

How are your ratings Steve? Do they give you a demographics like breakdown of listeners b/c I assume they can based on a subscription service like that.

There are no Arbitrons for Satellite, but Sirius and XM poll subscribers on their listening habits, and ATR has grown substantially in the past 2 years. Sirius estimates that any moment during the live broadcast's three hours, 5,000 radio are tuned to the show and that in a week, 20,000 will tune in at some point. The show has a very high rate of retention (time spent on channel).

And between the three airings of the show on Sirius, the addition of XM (unknown quantity yet) and podcast/stream/archive at the website (9,000 'cast subscribers), it appears that anywhere between 30,000-40,000 will hear portions of the show over the course of a week. I can also tell how we're doing based on callers, advertising inquiries, Emails, etc... Bottom line is that it's been going very well.

Understandably so...it's a great product you have. Appreciate the work you put into it and how much you do to promote the game.

If it were not for "At The Races", I would probably cancel my Sirrius subscription. I have been listening since the days of JJ and really enjoy how the show has progressed and evolved into the informative entertainment we now enjoy. First class.:tro:

Even though it's 3 hrs, I'm not surprised you have a high rate of retention. It's hard to get folks to pay attention to things for very long nowadays, but the quality of your show certainly makes the time fly by. :)

Remind me, does Rich Eng have a song you like to lead into him with? It feels like there is. I just heard Katy Perry's "Waking Up in Vegas" and it made me think of when you talk to Rich.

Lookin' forward to Haskin today and hopefully Baffert (and Desormeaux was it? Was he the one under the weather yesterday?)

Might be it. If so, unfortunately now I'm going to connect Rich's appearances with that Viagra commercial.

Irish,

Yes to the 3 airings, on Sirius... 4-7pm live, then 4-7am and 7-10am replays the next morning. Hoping XM will begin a replay plan soon too.

Duv,

Thx so much... It's easy really given how much there is to discuss and how much I enjoy it!

O/F,

Very kind. Thank you. Am always trying to improve the show with new content that I hope provokes and entertains. Hearing that people are keeping Sirius because of ATR is always a great compliment. I owe John Perrotta, Joe Graci and particularly Gus Alonso ("Bogey") my gratitude for anything that has happened with my involvement on the show.

Merl,

KD called saying he ended up having to dash off the grounds. Maybe today. Baffert had to go to Albany to pick up Jill at the airport. He should be good for a visit today. Maple is booked solid today unfortunately.
