Prado's ride on Cleric
Rewind three years back and Prado puts his rival away and rides out to the wire. To let a 44-1 come back against a Dogwood well meant runner shows that the recent slide in wins is no fluke. Not sure what he was doing with the reins inside the 1/8 pole either?
For another thread later on I need to understand how Lil Andy has become the face of NYRA? Man I go to put my voucher in and BAM Lil Andy is staring at me and wanting me to twitter with him? Watching him run from Gazebo to clubhouse burning two cigarettes and punching his NYRA card into a machine is about as close to twitter as I want to be with this guy. What could be next for NYRA? How can you say that a Dogwood 77K purchase in for 20K first out is a well meant runner? Yeah he ran better than everyone else in the race, but these are total slobs to be in for 20K. That screams firesale, red flags, whatever. One of the strongest plays in racing is to play against horses who are in for significantly less than their purchase price at least that's what I have found out if it is their debut. Once high purchases have proven form it's less of an issue but a horse being offered for 57K less than it was purchased?

Too bad, for you, that the DMR stewards weren't on special call at SAR today. They'd have definitely taken the winner down for bumping your horse late.

though i missed it the big stable guy put one over again..

Andy Serling is the voice of the horseplayer at NYRA for a very good reason: the quality and depth of his commitment to those watching that are interested in accurate, timely and insightful information. You want to question a play or perspective Andy makes... fine. But given his tireless commitment to working to know more about every horse in every race and provide the player with the best edge, anyone who insults his standing as the lead persona at the lead circuit in American racing is frankly, a jealous putz. Take it over Pace Advantage. That crap isn't playing on this particular stage... |

Scat - jocks are human beings too just like you and me. The have ups and downs in life , personal problems to deal with as well. Edgar could perhaps be going through some issues outside of the track, and in a game where anything less than 110% effort and focus everyday day at work is not given well then there could be a slip in performance. I don't know Edgar but my guess is that he is facing a distraction in his life right now outside of the track and it's showing up in his performance....play him at your own risk |

Some like Andy - some don't..but it's not a game of "please like me". At least he is doing something and I don't see anybody else working as hard as he does to try and make a difference...... Tweeter on Andy! and thanks for all your efforts! :tro: |

It's kind of like that little band you find, and they are cool and play small venues like Hammerstein Ballroom. Then their popularity slowly increases, but they are still playing places like SPAC and Jones Beach. Once they hit the big time, and start playing the Garden, their coolness factor has worn off. Andy is the same as he was as long as I've been a fan (quite a while), he is just playing the big venues, and his music has a little less of an edge to it these days. He is still someone that we can all learn a lot from, it just isn't as entertaining as it used to be.

I am sure of one of two things either you are just kidding around or your aren't. Assuming you are fooling around.. have you noticed that chix dig him? If you are serious then it would be better to comment on how he should do his job better and why you find his work unsatisfactory then to worry about cigarettes.. I am not sure NYRA could have found more diligent and brighter handicapper. Other then the Belulah twins that is. |

My sincerest apology
Kasept & All,
I had a group of guys for golfing and track and then back to my house for a cookout. I showed this website to all thinking they would appreciate it. After leaving my computer unattended it was used by one my guest without my knowledge or approval to post to this site. I have no ill feelings toward Andy Serling and view his work as very very good as my earlier post to him will prove. I have taken care of the individual who wrote this and all i can do is say I am sorry for this poor post. Regards, Scat Daddy |

Steve i would take him at his word , give him a mulligan per se , there is a lot ghost posting going around on the internet these days.... if it happens again then you do what you gotta do |
I didnt think that what he wrote about Andy was that bad. He has had much worse mud flung at him and he is a Knicks fan so he hates himself much worse than the faux Scat Daddy hates him.
