I guess the "new" period is over... Is the "change" period over yet? Unfortunately for his supporters, he is black Jimmy Carter without the colorful brother, Billy.

Lower energy prices will derail his energy agenda. Cap-and-trade, or as some refer to it, cap-and-tax, will have enormous impact on fixed income folks. Senior citizens will show their disdain in mid-year elections. Can you say Republican-controlled House of Representative? Just as 2008 election cycle set up poorly for Senate Republicans -- either 2010 or 2012 -- is similar scenario for Senate Democrats. Lots of incumbent Dems up for re-election (or retiring or dying) and fewer Republican seats up for grabs.

If Dow sail through 10000, I look for Democrats to claim credit. However, when it lags back to 5000, blame will squarely fall upon "previous administration" and its failed policies. Spin-spin-spin...

I'm beginning to think it would be better not to get any "free stuff". We'd probably be heavily taxed on our stuff. Just stay under the radar Geek.:)
