Bold Venture Stks - Fatal Bullet 09 Debut

A very interesting race at Woodbine this afternoon, BC Sprint 2nd and KY Cup sprint winner Fatal Bullet makes his 09 debut, in addition Queen's Plate winner Not Bourbon makes his return after almost a year away from the races. Add Field Commission second to Smart Enough in the Highlander Stks last month and among others we have a very salty group of horses.

Bourban scratched...the excitement factor is nil now.

Too bad. He'd have taken some money, too.

I think he has potential, if he can stay healthy. Perhaps even make an impact in the BC mile synth later this fall.

Who knows? But, he'd really be up against it today. This field is not a bunch of plugs. Why sprint this horse, after all?

It would have been a 2 horse race no doubt, both were apparently training well for their 09 debuts. Fatal Bullet is apparently a better 3 yr old than he was at 4 according to his trainer, where have I heard that before...? But he backed it up today, impressive. we know what he would have done if not for Midnight Lute last yr.

Not Bourban is a sneaky horse to watch this year IMO if we are to look ahead to the BC at SA. It's logical to assume he is also better at 4 than he was at 3, I know he's no worse than Rebellion with a much bigger upside so it will be interesting to see how he progresses this year.
