Sarah Palin resigns

Happy Fourth of July, Alaska! Palin resigns!

Will she pursue Presidency 100%? Who knows, after all the nasty "what McCain campaign workers said" stuff this week.

SniperSB23 07-03-2009 02:49 PM

I don't get it. I can understand not seeking a second term but why not finish this one out? I think that will be used against her in the primaries.

So she's going to try and run for President on 2.5 years as Governor of Alaska and time as Mayor of Wasila? Isn't she going to get killed by the whole lack of experience argument? Obama was besieged by it and he had 8 years as a state legislator and 4 years in the Senate.

Exactly.
Something else is up.
She may just be tired of all the crap.

“We know we can effect positive change outside of government,” she said in making the announcement.

it ain't going to happen

Jeb Bush is the only one who can win the presidency in '12 on the republican side right now

He is the only proven republican that can get the key swing votes and hispanic votes .

What other Republican starts with Florida in their pocket as an automatic - none that i can think of. The 2 southern states that went for Obama can eaisly go back to Bush in '12 - ask gpk

That leaves a Obama / Bush fight over the usual suspects - ohio , pa , indiana , michigan , wisc , neveda , new mexico and possible NH

Scott - tell me why bush can't win if he can win back fl , nc and va and then grab back a few of the other states i mentioned.

What state did mccain take that jeb bush wouldn't win ---- i don't see any

There is zero chance of Jeb Bush in 2012. He would get crushed in every state you mentioned as the usual suspects and would probably lose Missouri as well. It is very questionable whether he would take back Virginia and questionable as to taking back North Carolina. Even states like Montana, Arizona, and the Dakotas would become tossup states.

It would also have the residual effect of costing the Republicans seats in the house and senate by reassociating the party with the name Bush.

Todd Palin told FOX News that his wife will concentrate on "doing the things for Alaska and the country" that she is passionate about and can not do as governor with the limitation and constant opposition she deals with within the state.
LOL. Poor thing. She makes a great victim.

Guess if she can't handle the "limitation and constant opposition" of Alaska, she'd be eaten alive in Washington D.C.

Edit: I was thinking she might try and become a Washington lobbiest, but probably she'll just try and incite crowds to riot over issues close to her heart.

We need to make an odds line on how quickly the rest of the GOP distances themselves from her.

why , why can't he win those states there is a growing hispanic population there , what other republican has shown he can get a majority hispanic vote in a state like florida

certainly no one in NY ever has

Obama is far from a lock in va and nc - bush can beat him ther , he is going to beat him in Florida , if he locks up the south and people in the mid-west continue not to get any jobs , ohio and indiana and even mich and wis can go back to the red color

Yeah, this is political suicide. A shame too cause neither her nor Huckabee have any chance in the general election but could win the Republican primary. Now the GOP might actually have a candidate with a chance come through.

You are living in a fantasy world. Just being named Bush is the equivalent of disappearing from your job to disappear to Argentina where you cheat on your wife by taking part in a giant homosexual orgy while all four of your teenage daughters get knocked up at home and have late term abortions.

that maybe today , but, in 4 yrs time the we could be in a worse situation than when bush left office , things could actually be a lot worse

things turn in politics very quickly .... obama is no mortal lock in '12

he's got a long road ahead of him and if people don't have jobs , and can't pay their bills and taxes go up on all fronts he is very very beatable...you are living in a fantasy world if you think he is not beatable in '12

He's not beatable by Jeb Bush, he's not beatable by Sarah Palin, and he's not beatable by Mike Huckabee. If the economy is still bad then he is beatable by Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich.

Congratulations on being the only person in America (including Jeb Bush) that believes this.

She's breathing quite heavily. Could be normal for her(don't care enough to check.) For all I care, the btch can go fetch.

And the GOP starts to eat it's own young.

if obama is a train wreck it's over on '12 , heck GH Bush could come back at 86 and beat him

An unknown Republican that people aren't giving much credibility to right now might have a shot. That person is not Jeb Bush.

Most recent poll:
Huckabee - 22%
Palin - 21%
Romney - 21%
Gingrich - 13%
Bush - 6%

I agree.
Those working states that Obama got will not vote for
him again with 10% unemployment. A Republican could
easily take Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and on...

If the economy had not cratered, John McCain would
be our president imo. Iraq had definitely gotten
better. The surge worked.

Awfully hasty.

Maybe there is something to Letterman's joke.
