Wow ... she really is the Super Filly!

It might get corrected anytime now ... but the chart for the race has Rachel Alexandra last by 15 lengths after a mile - and winning by 19.25 lengths at the finish.

A mere net gain of 34.25 lengths through the final furlong.

Now is TFM's time to tell us why he hates chart callers and why we need trackus

By the way her last 1/8th is ridiculously fast. I mean Borel was long done riding her. I know we typically suggest that horses powered down aren't really but surely he wasn't asking her for her very best?

Equibase has it correct:

12.7? I dont think that is crazy fast, the pace was so its expected....certainly its funny she doubled her lead which means the others went about 15 for the last eighth.

That was her galllooping out

The track was just playing fast wasn't it? I don't think you should look at the times too deeply

I dont believe that stuff, she was all out in the preakness and went no faster, its like Zenyatta being hand ridden every race, she really cant go any faster.

How do you figure Luv God? The chart has her in front by 8 at the mile

The Indomitable DrugS 06-27-2009 05:55 PM

They just corrected it.

If it was the 4th at Penn National it would have taken them weeks.

What you need to do is pull up a bunch of charts from AP and then fire up the replays and compare the race to the chart. I guarantee you that you'll be left wondering what the **** is going on.

But what's really amazing about this is that I've hit a ton of winners at AP using just the charts alone. It's when I start watching the replays that I get into trouble. :zz:

This is why the only way to go is WOODBINE. They have a jock colony that, collectively, makes Ariel Smith look like a superstar but at least the data is accurate.

Last week the Trakus was all off on the Singspiel at Woodbine. It ain't perfect either, and the chart reflected what Trakus had.

the_fat_man 06-27-2009 10:31 PM

Good thing that wasn't a 'complicated' race.
