Well flashing is a little better then those in the Oaks so she will only win by 15 lengths.

When is she going to get out of these 3yo restricted races.

Yeah, what a soft campaign they've orchestrated with her.

I hope this is a joke.

I see that Calvin Borel is riding races prior to the Mother Goose. I really thought he would take the week off before riding Rachel Alexander.

Sightseek 06-24-2009 08:59 PM

ALEXANDRA!

Why is this so difficult?

I wouldn't be so condescending until after getting a glance underneath "Rachel"'s tail.

You heard about Chaz Bono, haven't you?

my feeling is I can never judge a three year old until they face elders, she clearly is a very good horse because she dominated MTB though.

It was a semi joke, I want more proof before I get on the "she is better then Ruffian" bandwagon.

You were trying to top yourself I assume?

Nobody that knows anything about racing is claiming she is an all-time great.

So when Easy Goer was running against Sunday Silence, you couldn't judge him until after he faced older in the Whitney? and you couldn't get a feeling on Sunday Silence until he won the BC?

your comparing racing from 1989 to 2009? Come on, and War Emblem looked like a world beater at this time of the year as well.

The point is that the whole thing about needing to beat older is extremely overrated. what matters is beating the best competition and sometimes, that best competition comes from within your own division. Look at Goldikova last year. she beat older horses and males at the same time. but she couldn't beat Zarkava, a fellow 3yo filly. I want to see Zenyatta take on the boys this year but I'd rather see her face Rachel Alexandra than face Bullsbay in the Hollywood Gold Cup. Life is Sweet isn't going to be voted as champion over Zenyatta if she wins the Gold Cup simply because she stepped outside of her division. It's about the competition, not the age or sex.

Better? Is that a typo? The better question is why he's running back so soon.
Jen?

As a side note, the irony of the whole Rachel Alexandra-Ruffian comparison is that Ruffian never ran against her elders.
