Equibase just notified me about Medaglia d' Oro's work today!

Wasn't there another recent thread about Equibase going haywire?

I used to have my "watch" at Equibase, but I switched it to DRF a few years ago. I never deleted my Equibase horses, which included Medaglia d' Oro, Lido Palace, etc. Today I get this from Equibase:

This notice is to inform you that one or more of your horses has worked out.
Medaglia d'Oro

Date: June 17, 2009
Track: SANTA ANITA PARK
Distance: Five Furlongs
Time: 1.00:80 Handily
Track Condition: Fast
Surface: All Weather Track
Rank: 9/41

Hard to figure what kind of software glitch is producing this stuff.

Maybe after seeing some of the Handicap races run so far this year they figured what the hell.

Who knows. Darley did just buy him, and I wouldn't put something this idiotic past them.

Does anyone really doubt he couldn't come back and beat Macho Again and whatever slug wins the Suburban?

A lot of times the clocker will just put down a work for whatever name you give them.

I had a horse go last week, they credited a similarly named horse who hadn't run since 2001 with the workout until I called the next day and let them know they got the wrong name.

I'm tepted to tell the clocker the horse is named Whirlaway the next time she works .... it's about 80 percent that if I do Whirlaway will get credited with the workout.

u are 100% correct we did this last week with a horse that has not been around in 10 years just to see if it woud show up and it did

blackthroatedwind 06-18-2009 06:17 AM

It's probably an unnamed 2YO by Medaglia D'Oro. Or a 2YO by him whose name they didn't know.

They usually put the Dam's name and Year of Birth. But some times that info isnt available to the clocker I supppose. So I guess they used the Sires name.

I'll be really impressed if someone has Whirlaway in their Virtual Stable.

The Indomitable DrugS 06-18-2009 03:53 PM

I've been talked into going with Sumwonluvsyou instead of Whirlaway.
