6/14: Belmont ($53k C/O)

Couldn't find Proctor's 'other' horse to close out Churchill All-Stakes P4, but was pleased to get on board Macho Again, whom I flogged all week on ATR, for the Foster. Belmont late quad action was complicated by off/turf in the 7th and 10th, but I wasn't coming up with Masala as a winner in the 9th no matter how hard I looked at the race. Hope you did OK. Carryover at Elmont today of $53k, with main track listed as fast and the 7th and 10th again listed as off the soft turf courses. 5th, 6th and 8th still on for what looks like a challenging sequence.

Literally my first thought after he crossed the line was ''I should have listened to Steve'' :(

Scav 06-14-2009 10:54 AM

:) :) They took the 7th and 10th off the turf, but kept the 6th on, guessing because it is a different course??

Thank god because Graphite Halo absolutely is putrid on slop or dirt.....

Why is everyone loving the #5 horse in the 9th? I've got him pegged as the fourth contender. Don't mean to question the vets, just trying to learn something.

jms62 06-14-2009 04:22 PM

Seems like it is a waste of time lately to even handicap.. Just play Byks P4 and save the wear and tear on the brian. Good luck in the night-cap

I'm glad Sailor's Cap appears to have taken a step forward from last year, but obviously he couldn't have possibly gotten a better set-up.

Nice job again, Steve. I couldn't take that 12 on dirt at a small price.

Thanks P... Good close to the weekend. I didn't use the 12 initially either, but when Ketubah scratched I needed somebody. Certainly wasn't counting on Saarlandisourland...

hockey2315 06-14-2009 05:00 PM

Nice hit, Steve. Both Pk4s played pretty well for relatively low priced horses.
