Vanderbilt on Saturday

Looks like another great race at Saratoga. Mass Media, last year's Forego winner, will take a shot in a field loaded with speed types like War Front and Afrashad. We will also probably see Tiger from the rather cold Jimmy Jerken's barn. Maybe a small field in terms of number of horses but very large in quality.

hey...not concerning this race, but you asked about Rock Lobster on another thread. He ran at Monmouth on Sunday during the big day they had there. Finished 2nd to a horse named Precious Passion.

Thanks Kev. I never even knew he was running and I was at the track for that race. Just wasnt paying attention I guess. Probably glad I didnt see that.

Looks like he lost by a head bob after having some trouble. Went off the 2/1 favorite so I wouldnt have played him anyways.

if you follow the NYRA website, this is going to be a fantastic race, what with Delaware Township, Put It Back, Five Star Day, Trippi, Left Bank, and Exchange Rate running.

Incidentally, based on those nominations, I'd empty the bank on Five Star Day. Stone cold f'ing lock.

LOL. Somebody forgot to inform NYRA that this is the internet age. Apparently they dont have the time to update their website and properly promote the premier meet in horse racing.

Seriously, what year was that? 2001? I mean, Five Star Day has 3yo's in training now.

Gander 08-09-2006 09:52 AM

Yes, they still have the 2001 nominations up there. Amazing to me as well Slot. Maybe if we are lucky we'll also see Kelly Kip running this weekend and not have to settle for Kip Kelly (runs in today's 1st).

Going on NYRA's time warp, I can't wait to see Orientate in next year's Vanderbilt.
