Better Talk Now

Looks like he is leaning towards the Arlington Million. His trainer says there is not enough pace for him in the Sword Dancer. My question is doesnt this horse bring his own pace with Shake the Bank? What difference does it make if there are other pace horses? Shake the Bank will be flying and in the Sword Dancer would be opening up a 10-15 length lead, forcing a few of the other horses with tactical speed to go faster than they want to go.

I think Better Talk Now would be better suited to run at Saratoga in a race he won 2 years ago, at a distance that suits him to a tee. I hope he stays at Saratoga.

The Sword Dancer is an invitational Gander and Shake The Bank is not invited. That is why he is leaning towards the million so Motion can use Shake The Bank.

Ooops. I forgot about that. Kind of reminds people that Better Talk Now is a horse that can win without his rabbit, as he did 2 years ago in this race and also that year in the BC.

He isn't using Shake the Bank in the Million either, he said there was enough pace...STB wasn't on the pre-entry list

No, he didn't and he said it was a mistake

The Tin Man is the pace, along with Ace

Have to imagine the sentimental favorites are the local Arlington horse and The Tin Man. I just don't see how folks couldn't root for an eight year old gelding in a race like this.

I love the Tin Man but I will be against him in the wagering. I think Ace is very much the horse to beat in here, even if he hasnt won in 2 years. Have a feeling he sits a golden trip in here and gets the first run on the closers. Heck he may even opt to be on the lead. More when I see the draw.

I am a big fan of BTN as well. I actually visited Graham Motion at Fair Hill about 8 weeks ago and got to see BTN. He is one of the smallest male horses you will ever see racing at the level he does. I bet he isn't more than 15.1 Although I don't think they measure him, because it might give him a complex. LOL!

a birdie told me to get nuts on Ace, regardless if English channel shows up

Remember BTN prefers softer going snd a firm turf could be his undoing.

It's hard..... love both The Tin Man AND Phoenix Reach.

Devastated when he was injured and am still just shocked he's entered (and a little worried).

Ace though..... you'll see.

Come home safe, all of you.
