So what was the Preakness?

That was the plan all along to run in the Lone Star Derby and the Belmont. When the injuries to KY Derby contenders starting occurring like dominoes, they suddenly found themselves in the Derby field and top 20 graded earnings. That's all that happened. They only ran in the Preakness because they won the Derby...you know trying for that Triple Crown thing.

That story is really not a secret, they have been interviewed multiple times saying that even before the Derby.

This may have been mentioned in other threads, but the one thing I have noticed following MTB's run outs for both the Derby and Preakness is he is not blowing at all. Between his pedigree and apparent excellent fitness, the 1.5 mile Belmont should not be issue. My main question is whether he will have the early fractions to run into with his off the pace style.

I like Summer Bird as a possible longshot if his connections plan on proceeding to the third leg.

yea he looks a lot better in the stretch run, and the gallop out, then the post parade.

No value on MTB, though I don't disagree he may benefit with the distance, he's no value as a win bet.

Luv Gov was Belmont prepping in the Preakness. The Lukas magic.

Actually a better and more accurate adjective is I am 'interested' in Summer Bird if he runs in the Belmont.

Didn't have a chance to listen, he's a must include in the pick 4 and the early pick here.
