Arlington Park - Race 8

Did anyone just see what happened?

After the start, something happens to the 5 (I can't figure it out) and the jockey bails. Then in the stretch, the 9 freaks out and jumps/barrels over the temporary rail.

Looks like all were OK, but freaky indeed.

I saw it, the 9 did not like that whip. Not sure about the 5 but glad both are ok.

The 5 is Chuck's... Operetta Italiano.

Perhaps he will be around later to give us an update. Looked really weird. Horse didn't look to take a bad step. I mean, it just looked like the jock totally bailed for no reason the first time I watched it.

Didn't know what I saw at first; just woke up. Midnight shift is making me see some odd things, man.......

It looks like the horse lost her footing while trying NOT to step on the jock. Looks more like the jock's foot slipped out of the stirrup. :zz:

i just watched it and it definately did not look like he horse took any bad steps. I almost looked like the jock just lost his balance and had to bail.
Somebody better call Scavs and tell him to get into the hot box.

They dont make a box hot enough

Word was that Tim told them the horse took a few awkward steps and it caused him to simply lose his balance.

That was adventurous enough, until the 9 bailed in the stretch.

Though in Operetta's defense, she certainly got a workout giving everyone a ton of trouble corralling her....took them quite a bit to get her under control after the race

i watched this race live and does anyone on here think that the 9 was gonna go on and win that race? i did. it didn't look to me like they were coming to him and he was 45-1. Surprsied i didnt have money on that 9 the way things are going lately.

We talked a bit about that -- it looked like she was going on with it, for sure. Not sure she would have held off the winner, but she would have had a great chance.
