Why Now?
 

If Jess Jackson was interested in buying a world class prospect like Rachel Alexandra, why did he wait til after the Ky Oaks? Couldn't he see how immensly talented she was before that race. Apparently he needed to see her drown a few overlymatched fillies to offer up the 8 figures.

He could have had the post time favorite for the Ky Derby for probaly less money had the made this offer last month. Now he is gonna take a filly that has just run her career best and bring her back on 2 weeks rest. Then throw in the shipping to Pimlico and the trainer change. It's asking alot.

maybe he did try to get her before the race but the offer wasnt good enough for the owners??

i would be willing to bet all the big guys tried to buy her before that race..
