Anybody seen Talledega Nights?

Heard it got a good write up. Wondering if anyone's seem it yet. Will Farrel is a riot and I will see it either way.

I'm gonna come at you like a spider monkey!!

Yeah it was hilarious.

My husband saw it and said everyone with him loved it, but he thought "Anchorman" was funnier.

That sucks because I didn't really like Anchorman. But I loved Elf and Kicking and Screaming.

I think the funniest part about the movie was probably the kids! They were hilarious!

alysheba4 08-08-2006 03:10 PM

hughhh what......anchorman ruled:D

Gander 08-14-2006 02:43 PM

It was entertaining. Kind of a dumb movie and a big bust on people who follow auto racing. Stereotypes gallore. The kids were not all that funny, rather obnoxious and their act got old before half the movie was over.

Parts had me laughing very hard and Will Ferrell made it worth the $8.75, but not sure if I would recommend it or not. Can wait until rental.

i generally wait...and many times don't catch movies later, not much of a fan of most. but i do like will ferrell, seems good comedies are about the only thing i am willing to watch--at home. don't care to go to theatres BUT my kids are invited to go out of town, and they won't be going, so as a 'sorry guys' i'll most likely bite the bullet and take them to see it.

besides, tony and i might be in it. we got free tix from my job and were at talladega when they did a bunch of filming.

It was rather boring and really didn't have any side splitters in it except for a couple of scenes. Watching Will Farrel run around in his underwear and a helmet was a good scene and the last part of the scene where his friends are trying to convince him he can walk was pretty funny. Personally I wish I would have waited till it was on DVD even though it wasn't my doe that paid my way.:D

Hey, whorstman, did you ever get around to seeing it? What did you think?

I still haven't seen it, but I finally saw "Superman Returns" on Friday. I went to the Imax to see it, and parts of it were in 3D. I'm a sucker for those glasses...

Well, they're as big as my head, so they're certainly a "look" at least, if not a great one. :) And they aren't red and blue anymore; just a sort of grey.

During the movie, green images of the glasses would flash on screen when it was time to put them on, and red images when it was time to take them off. For some reason, I had trouble seeing the red images with the glasses on. Thank goodness my friend could see them and would whap me across the head when it was time to take them off or I would have kept the stupid things on for the whole movie, saying, "Well, this part isn't very good 3-D at all..."

That scene was hilarious... LOL

I for one thought it was "ok." I laughed really hard, but it definitely could have waited until it came out on rental. I wasn't a huge fan of how they inaccurately portrayed Nascar, but maybe that's because I follow Nascar. :p

Not yet, Maybe check it out this weekend.

Gander 08-15-2006 02:20 PM

I would have been insulted if I was a Nascar fan. The movie was okay. Not bad, not great. Somewhere in between. The only reason I went is because I had a horrible day at the track and wanted to drown my sorrows in a pound of swedish fish, which I did and paid for all night and the next morning.
